Decent pic of my scarring

Right after playing around with the lighting and my camera i have managed to finally get a picture of my scarring. After spending the past few months being told by people i know and recently a doctor that they thought i was going crazy and couldn't see anything i now know they are probably all talking bull poo!

I am supposed to be having dermapen treatments as soon as i have my clogged pores sorted but i just want a second opinion. This picture is a true reflection of my scars in bad lighting. Please note they are all over my face and not just in the area you can see in the picture. They are not very deep at all but there are so many of them that its making my skin texture look awful. Is dermapen the right way to go or am i just going to be dissapointed? Any advice would be great.

Please see the below FAQ under...How do I improve my skin's texture, get rid of large pores. Several options. Microneedle will not make your pores smaller unless they apply topical botox to the superficial .5mm openchannels after.

Thank you for your reply. Do you think they are large pores then only they look like scars when i look in the mirror. If i pull my skin down they almost go shiny looking scarred tissue if that makes any sense? Sorry its hard to describe what i see in the mirror. Some area look like they have indents that are much larger than large pores but its hard to capture it in a way that looks like what i see.

There is a tutorial how to take a pic with indirect lighting in the faq 😉 If it's bad texture your choices are laser or TCA peels., this does nothing for ice picks that need TCA Cross. You can Do TCA peels at home if you wish the tutorial is in the faq, also you can buy your own microneedle machine for the cost of one treatment, it's called the derminator, you derminator, wait till that heals (once a month) then do a TCA peel. I don't see any atrophy so it's textural. If you need filler for age a derm or injector can do that.

Thank you i will have a good look at that. It is a big texture issue. I do have a couple of deep scars but its these ones in the photo that bother me its from squeezing and messing with minor bumps on my face years ago and i didnt realise the damage i had caused until i saw my reflection in bad lighting a few months ago. Now it is all i see.

Yes retin a would help the texture, I use it nightly. He is right start with this. You can buy it on ebay. Then you can do TCA once that does not work. I forget the creams sometimes as so many have tired C and Retin A or accutane before the embark on the scars. Retin A would be smart first, thanks Quan.

Yea retin a would be a good starting point. It is good for improving texture, and your skin isn't damaged enough to go for harsh treatments. TCA peel would probably be your second step if you aren't happy with the retin a.

Good luck.

I'd give it 6 months. I use it nightly unless I am doing another treatment, then I stop for a few weeks and let things heal.

You can microneedle and retin a at the same time. He is saying from your pics, it's mainly textural issues so ... Retin A and TCA peels from what we can see is best.

All 3 are probably good options. You could still do your dermapen sessions and use retina as much as your skin can tolerate.
