Hi,
So I am going to finish 5 months on Roaccutane, and I left about one month. My back is looking much more better. I left about 4-5 active bumps. As you can see there are red marks (they are almost smoothy). My doctor told me that they will disappear once I finish my course, but I will like to get an answer from personal experience.

Healing time varies a lot and depends on the individual. Some people are quick healers, some slower, some don't get any scars even after years of acne, others scar easily even with mild acne. But I'd give it 6 months to a year at least. Either way, these marks most likely aren't permanent and should fade eventually on its own. You can try Dan's AHA+ or another 10% glycolic acid. This will speed up the fading process!

Is it fine using these while on accutane?
The marks you are experiencing will go away. I had the same problem except it was on my face, and like you, I was hesitant to believe that it would fade. My dermatologist, just like yours, said to give it time and it would heal. I spent a lot of time worrying about it...which turned out to be unnecessary. My advice to you is to use AHA, glycolic, or Mandelic acid after your course of Accutane is finished (just like DeLovely advised). You might have to start slow, using it every other day, until your skin builds a tolerance to it. But in the end, time truly is the best healer. I hope I reassured you that these marks are indeed temporary.

Thank you! it's really make me feel better.
Can you tell me how long until you see any improvement and how long till it fade?
Viking....it really does depend on the individual. Healing time can be dependent on so many variables such as age, nutrition, topical used, etc. If I were you I would relax and be gentle with my skin. Don't stress and possibly take supplements/eat healthy to aiid in the healing process.
