I'm very depressed. After spending thousands of dollars and a year of time and agony, all of the scar treatments that I've tried on my trauma scarring have failed. I've used topical creams, silicon sheets, scar revision surgery, filler, and laser resurfacing. Also kept it out of the sun religiously. Nothing has worked. I am fed up with all of the false advertising and fake claims by plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and estheticians. They are all lies. They use fake pictures and reviews to promote these miracule solitons. Funny how they never have real client photos/results for you to see during a consultation. Doctor's act like they can help you with these treatments, like they are god, then they cut you off cold as soon as it's obvious that the treatment didn't workand you askwhat else can be done. The industry is corrupt and continues to profit off of desperate and distressed people who suffer from facial scarring. It really sickens me. I can't believe scar treatments arenot regulated better to protect people. Sorry to be so negative, but it is true. Save you money folks. You cannot improve your scars. In fact, you will only throw your money away and quite possibly make your scars worse.
Plenty of people have improved their scars over time. Subcision and suction has excellent results, as does dermastamping and TCA cross if you stick with it for a year or two. You have an unusual situation where you just have one small dent in your forehead. That's not acne scarring.
Maybe it did improve and your expectations were too high? I seen some good believable improvement of people on here who had surgery done and I've also seen some not so believable ones. also always be careful on who you pick to for your journey its almost like picking a mechanic some are better than others and some are just looking to come up on people. Its all a business and capitalism sad to say but true.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. Acne scars and scars in general are difficult to improve, but it is possible. I think sometimes as scar sufferers, our expectations outpace what can be realistically achieved. Unfortunately, all methods are imperfect as of now. How much improvement we get is a function of our own healing abilities, the skill of the doctor, choosing the right method, and the type of scar. Unfortunately, it's also true that some scars are totally resistant or too severe / far gone to improve in any way.
If you are looking for improvement, that can be achieved. If you are looking for perfection like the acne or trauma never happened, that's not currently possible.

Well said! I tried dermabrasion and it didn't work. I then tried regular CO2 and it didn't work. I tried the roller and it didn't work. I tried full force Fraxel Repair and had very good improvement. Everybody is different.
Some scars will go away on their own, some will go away after treatments, some will never go away no matter what you do.
It is hard to predict which scar will go away, sometimes your doctor can tell (i.e. guess) by her experience, but many times the results simply cannot be predicted.
Best!
