These are my scars
they are in the worst possible lighting I could find
I really want to find a good doctor for subcision with suction, TCA cross, maybe some punch excisions.
Do you think it's possible to get 50%+ improvement?
Im hoping to get some treatment in the next few months and blog about it. I live in Australia so if anyone has any recommendations for dermatologists would be much appreciated
Hey man i think you have the right idea upon what treatments you want to go forward with, andyou said you live in Austrailia? You are lucky and won't have to travel much becauseone ofbest acne scar correcting doctor that I've seenis in Australia.Dr. Davin Lim http://www.westderm.com.au check out this site and itsbefore and after photos. Also want to say i feel your pain as i have somewhat similar scarring to you. Wish you the best, keep your head up I'm sure you can a achieve 50% improvement in the right hands and right protocol, good luck!
You're lucky you live in the same country as the dermatologist many of us would travel across the world to see if we could. Dr. Davin Lim is a no brainer. Can't wait to follow your progress. Hope you see 50%+ improvement over time. I think you have the right idea with the procedures you mentioned. Then maybe resurfacing at the end to smooth and blend the texture of any excisions, etc. Let us know where to follow your blog.
Thanks Guys, I'm going to hopefully meet with davin lim in the next month or two and see what he can do. I've seen the subcision suction results and the TCA cross with subcision results, even small punch excisions with laser after them don't look too bad!
Ill probably just blog on here. I'm going to go into this fully committed and have as many sessions/treatments as needed.
Anyway I'll update on here when I know more.
Hello Mail8, when you say "excision" and "punch" do you mean scar elevation technic ? I live in france and will have scar elevations and later mechanic dermabrasion. I see on this forum many peaple speak about subcision, but in france I don hear about it. Is subcision technic better than scar elevation ?
Yeah I will probably just call the clinic he works for and see if I can email him pictures and see what he thinks, I've written the clinic but with no reply yet, it is holiday season so I'll just wait a week or two and if I don't get a reply I'll call the clinic, I don't live in Brisbane unfortunately.
I havent see any decent results from scar elevation... Subcision seems to be the go. Hopefully I'm wrong but haha
I have seen his posts and real self and will try and contact him on there aswell. Happy new year
Agreed. If the texture of the skin is good but the scar is depressed I think subcision/suction with or without fillers is the way to go. If the texture is bad and can't be improvedthen I think punch graft (replacing with a skin graft from behind the ear) or punch excisionfollowed by mechanic dermabrasion to blend the texture of the new, less obvious scaris a good idea. If the texture is like normal skin but only depressed and you do punch elevation you will be creating new scars that will need to be blendedwhen you might be able to achieve the same results without creating them. Checkout the subcision/suction detailed article in the Subcision How To In Depth thread. @FrenchyStephmaybe it would help if you shared some photos of your scars. There are some very experienced members of this forum that might be able to give you some advice on the best procedures for scar types. Also, post them on RealSelf and you can get advice from many different professionals. I'd be 100% confident punch elevation is the best procedure for your scarsand there are no betteroptionsbefore having it. Otherwise, it looks like a decent procedure that gives improvementyou just might be able to achieve even better results with other methods depending on your scars.
