About Myself

Hello all, I would like to begin introducing myself. My name is Kelvin, I'am 16 and from an Asian background. I have been suffering with mild/severe acne for the last year and a half also. I have been on oratane for about 2 months and have stopped consuming it for the last 5 months also. I have tried several of over the counter products and updated my cleaning routine consistently

Current Routine

Morning:

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

2. Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner

3. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (All Skin Type)

Night:

1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

2. Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1

3. Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner

4. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion (All Skin Type)

Mask

Twice a week : Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

After each time toning I would splash my face with "cold" water. To close the pores.

Extra Info:

I'am actually quite careful in the way I wash my face. I slightly apply pressure to my face with circular motions

Problems & Questions

Alright as you can see the pictures down below are a couple of shots of my current skin. From what I can see, there are very slight indentations on my skin and strange dark spots around my skin (appeared after acne cleared up)(Not sure what they are called). I now have my acne under control and very rarely ever get any pimple.

So my question to you is?

What would you my current skin problem is and what would you recommend I should do?

I currently live in Australia, Sydney to be specific.

I did a bit of research and was thinking of some doing some sort of peel or laser treatment. (Not sure what to do at the moment)

Please suggest the quickest&fastest method I could cure my problem (money isnt much of a problem), I am feeling quite depress at the moment.

Lastly, If you don't mind. But if you do live in Sydney as well, please suggest some places I could get my skin checked out as well.

P.s If you need any more information to know more about my skin, please feel free to ask ^_^

Miscellaneous Information

  • I am currently a full time athlete, so I do live quite a healthy lifestyle and am quite fit. So I believe exercising isnt much of a problem to me.
  • I forgot to mention above, I do use sunscreen as well (Dermaceutic SPF 50 UVA/UVB)
  • I drink about 5L of water a day .
  • I am gluten free and dairy free. I only use himalayan salt and olive oil in my food.
  • I drink pure lemon juice and a cup of green tea each morning.

Thanks a lot for letting me know what it is. Do you mind recommending anything that will speed up the recovering process. I've got my school formal soon and want to look a bit better than what I am. Thanks for your time :D

Hydroquinone will drastically lessen the fade time. If you happen to be in a country where it is legal, you could get that. Other than that, chemical peels do a really good job as well.

Thanks for these suggestions. DO you think Hydroquinone is obtainable in Australia? and I've heard isnt it possible using it can lead to cancer?

It looks like you have PIH. If you can't get Hydroquinone then the second best topical would be products that have Kojic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, Glycolic Acid, etc. For myself I've had good results with Dan's AHA. It cleared up all of my brown marks.

BUMP!

Hey guys, just returning with some questions???

I recently bought a product called "SUPERFADE" which contains 2% Hydroquinone. I have been only using it for 3 days now (applying it day and night), havent seen much result though (About how long do you think I will begin to notice results with 2% hydroquinone?). But I was wondering if its the right decision to also purchase glycolic acid to add to my regimen (Can you recommend how many '%' I should use, my face is still the same as above). If so, do you mind recommending a brand where I could buy ASAP, since I am currently living in Australia. I have found a couple of these products on eBay and am not to sure if its trustworthy or not. So please guide my through this. (Acne.org glycolic acid shipping takes to long to be shipped, am trying to clear my face ASAP, since I've got a date and formal coming up). Please spare a bit of your time and help.
