Treatment Options For My Skin?

Hi. I've been to a few clinics but I'd really appreciate an outside opinion from someone who's not trying to sell me something. How severe is my scarring? Which treatment fits my scars? I want as good results as possible, which means that I want my scarring to be more even in relation to my normal skin, so the shadowy areas don't appear. I'm also looking for routine tips? I'm thinking of trying Retin-A.

Thoughts?

All replies are appreciated. :)

Minor atrophy, treatable with subcision/suction and needling. Definitely use retin-a.

A doctor recommended subcision with fillers, will that yield similar results as subcision with suction?

You do not have many scars, but the ones you do have seem to be quite deep. I think your best bet is indeed subcision, followed by an ablative (fractional) laser. If you are still not happy after that, then you can try fillers for the leftover indents. But I would realy save the fillers as a last resort since they are not permanent.

I would not bother with an ablative laser. Subcision and needling. Filler if you can afford it

Can you elaborate? Some lasers can be realy helpfull in smoothing things out. It might just make the difference between good results and excellent results.

Lasers are best for blending in, not filling up.

True. For that reason it needs to be done after subcision.

I don't see a case for laser. It would be overkill especially because your skin tone is generally smooth and good, obviously except for the indentations. Laser is not good for raising / filling discrete acne indentations like this. Lasers only help improve the skin globally, not in precise indentations like this. I think you would do really well with subcision + suction, or subcision + filler. Honestly I think if you find someone skilled, subcision and filler would work really well, because your skin is otherwise smooth on the surface (not jagged, sharp scars everywhere).

If the scars are not tethered you could conceivably just fill them directly. Something like Perlane or Voluma would work, though it does get pricey and will have to be maintained. Bellafill is a permanent filler, but understand that permanent fillers come with risks like granulomas down the road. Regardless of the filler, filling acne scars takes impeccable technique and REALLY good lighting. I think the way you shot these photos are excellent, and you should show the doctor pics like these to make sure they see what you are seeing.

Thank you everyone for replying. I will probably try subcision with fillers. I could post the results here afterwards if anyone's interested. It won't be for another month or two though.
