Hey again delna , I was reading up on a tinted moisturizer from phyisicans formula and its got titanium dioxide plus its good against environmental stresses and such could this be good as an alternative for both the makeup and the moisturizer ? killing 2 birds with one stone or should i do it seperately ?
all i can say is WOW! i tried the baking powder thing and the egg mask. I wanted to do the vinager but i didnt have any. My skin is so much smoother. I will be doing this everynight now, thank you so very much for sharing this with us. I dont seem to use all of the egg so i put the rest in my hair and let it set for 10 min. I just hate to waist anything. My hair is super glossy now, i am not sure if the lemon is good or bad for it yet. thanks again!

hey is it ok if i just do the baking soda mask only??
i cant really afford to waste 1 egg white a day..
and do i have to do the vinegar thing to balance ph???..or is that just for smooth skin?? i dont really care about the texture of my skin i just wanna get rid of red marks
Wow, this sounds promising.I just started it yesterday, haven't noticed much yet.
Will it make any difference if instead of a squeeze of lemon I use a squeeze of orange? Not a lemon in sight in this household.
You could probably use an orange, the only problem is that oranges don't have as much acidity as a lemon or a lime. But I don't think an orange would hurt, it just wouldn't be quite as effective.
Hi everybody, I have been following this regime for over two weeks now and thought i would post my results in case anyone is curious if it works.
First about me; i have had mild/moderate for a number of years and a couple of stress related breakouts a few months ago have left my face so covered in red marks you can't even tell I'm 95% clear (finally! a mix of bp and cutting out milk did it for me) combine that with closed comedones and blackheads and my face looks like a disaster zone. Anyway so i found this website and thread and decided to give it a try.
So does it work? Yes...and no. I depends what you want from it. Its not a miracle-cure (but then what is) I still have red marks after over two weeks, but I think they have faded slightly. (I would show photos but i don't have a camera ). At the very least my checks no longer look like I've used too much blush and you can see the seperate red marks. As a student I can't afford expensive regimes/peels/acid so this is cheap and i can use the stuff for cooking too
. I'm resigned to the fact i have to wait up to 6 months for my skin to heal and this feels like it might speed the process up. And it makes my skin feel so lovely and smooth.
Admittedly I did alter the routine a tiny bit; I only do it every second day because i think any exfoliate would be too harsh everyday. The egg part is easier then i thought, you barely need a tablespoon of it as a little goes a long way. I just scoop a little out when i cook with eggs and put it the fridge till I'm ready to use it, that way there's no waste. And a little hint is to stop using bp as i found that it makes the red marks worse.
Really if nothing else works, what the harm in giving this a try? Its dirt cheap, quick, wont make it worse (if ur gentle) and might just work for you. And just another thing, before posting a question please please please read through the first few pages. I have read most of this thread and the same questions are posted over and over again. Drove me crazy!
Anyway, good luck to all
In my experience it has, before i started using bp my marks faded quite quickly but now i have some red / almost brown marks that have been hanging around for awhile; the price you pay i guess for clear skin. This may not happen to everyone, but it did happen to me. I now just spot treat it when i need to. I was using a cream with 5% so that might of been a factor... in any case too much of any chemical is bad for you skin
hey guys.
ive been browsing around this website for about a bit over 2 weeks now n just decided to actually register today. the reason being so is that delna's regime worked wonders for my redmarks n facial redness. I've been on this for almost 2 weeks(with a couple days off and i stopped the eggwhite mask the last few days). Both my cheeks were pretty red and i had some really old redmarks n new ones that formed in the summer. And because i became more pale during the summer(i dont kno how that happened) my redmarks became more apparent and noticeble. I got really tired of them so i decided to do something about it. This was the second post i read on this site and i browsed through many pages of it and finally decided to give it a try. AND WOW. After about 2-3 days i've noticed improvements and that my redmarks n redness have faded about 20%. Now its been almost 2 weeks and all my facial redness is gone, the new redmarks that developed over the summer are almost gone about 80-90% i'd say. but the really old ones are still around but thats ok! And one more thing, i had a lot of blackheads on my nose that i was too lazy to get rid of. but after doign delnas regime, i realized those things disappeared as well! my pores are pretty tight now and my skin looks good(tho far from perfect). Even my mom told me today it looked really good compared to before, and they were skeptical about me putting those stuff on my face.
SO GUYS GIVE THIS A TRY!!! its cheap n its really not much work once u get used to it.
and if delna u ever come back to visit this site, THANK U!!!!!!!!!
-David
I read about this and i have been using a similar regime for a month. I am Black woman, 27, with children, oily skin and acne that was nonexistent in my teen years has reared its ugly head But i dont play that so...heres what ive been doing. And im only posting/registering because it works.
Morning:
Baking soda mixed with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleaner. (I combined steps; I dont have time to fool around in the morning.) Buy a little .50 bottle (travel?) from Wal-Mart, use a funnel to fill it with a bit of baking soda and a bit of cleanser. The baking soda somewhat "dissolves" but its still effective enough to exfoilate. Should be sort of "foamy", a little grainy and maybe a little runny. Apply this to your face like a scrub/cleanser then rinse off with cold water (shrinks pores, wakes you up- a 2 4 1 of sorts )
Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with Water. Again with a .50 bottle, fill half way with ACV, halfway with Water- a little less ACV may be required for you; I like to feel the tingle though. Again, it wakes you up. Use a cotton pad/ball and apply to face; you should look a little sweaty. And ppl, it only smells for a minute- stop being so dramatic . Let it dry for 10 mins, then rinse off- cold water, of course. I confess that I have left it on a time or two. Havent seen any damage.
Acne Medication/Spot Treatment. I use Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 5 which is a maximum strength Benzoyl Peroxide acne medication. This stuff is the business. Can be very drying but nothing mosturizers can't fight. I apply it to my acne prone areas only i.e., cheeks, chin, forehead. I also use Even Better by Clinique at this point. I have some past damage that will be gone in a couple of weeks ...hey, you gotta own it if you want it to be so!
Moisturizer w a significant SPF count. Its generally acknowledged in skin circles that Black dont crack, but the Sun doesnt discriminate, so wear a moisturizer w SPF unless youre actually going for that whole leather look and in that case ...poor you
Even in the winter, even if your darker, even if youre lazy: Use it.
Thats all for the morning for me. I suppose this is where you would apply makeup if you wear it. I don't natural beauty is sooo underrated... not counting mascara and lipgloss, of course.
Night:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Just a regular wash/rinse with a dime of this. No frills.
Spot treat stubborn acne, fight dark circles, and blemishes. This is just basic "maintenance" stuff. I use the Persa-Gel 5, a better quality eye cream, and Clinique Even Better.
Because I am Black, I dont have red marks, per se, but dark marks. They begin red... but die dark The Even Better hopefully will work for that. Its seems to be doing good on my recent scarring; jury still out on the scar/pimple that ruined my date with Senior QB Greg K., who was so hot...well nevamind
In short, I think this is a good regime for folks with mild/moderate acne. I did the egg mask thing once or twice but that was too tedious for me. BTW, to not waste egg, poke a pin hole in an egg and use that for your supply.
Instead of Apple Cider vinegar, can I just use normal Malt Vinegar? I believe the baking soda idea works... I use "Bicarbonate of soda", is that the same as baking soda?
Any help would be absolutely excellent!
No; No Malt...I think that stuff is "processed" with something to make it malt, no? ACV is only about a dollar at Wal-Mart, if that much.
With skin like ours we dont want to take many chances And yes, thats the same as Baking Soda.
Hey, can someone PLEASEEE answer a couple of my questions? I don't want to direct this to Delna because shes probably quite fed up with all these questions!
I don't have much acne (I was off Accutane 2 months ago) so I do not use any acne cream (such as the suggested Proactiv BP lotion), but this sounds like a crucial step. Anyone know what I should do? Go to the store and pick up some BP anyways?

Yeah I think you should pick some up...if only to spot treat. I think you would need it because you must use moisturizer with this routine.

Hey, I do have moisturizier, but I just don't have any acne cream... Is this step essential? Thanks!

I'm assuming that you have "oiler" skin because you had severe acne at some point...if you apply moisturizer thats more "oil" on your skin...acne cream could keep the hidden ones who like to pop up when they sense oil/moisture at bay.
But if you dont think your acne will return full force with a new routine, by all means go ahead without it. If you do notice acne you could always get some cream and spot treat. Good luck.

Thank you very much for replying! I'm glad I know now as I was about to go ahead and use the Malt vinegar.
Anyway, I've only be washing my face and using the Baking soda as an exfoliator each day and I've noticed difference already (it's only been 6 days) I'm now going to do the full thing and see how it goes!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful method, I think you've saved my life.
Hi all, I just read through quite a lot of the thread. Sounded interesting, though i was sceptical. I just tried the egg/lemon mask. It seemed fine on my skin(didnt irritate) and did make it smoother, so Im gonna try the rest of the regime that was suggest.
I was wondering if anyone in the UK has been doing the regime for awhile?
I'm also trying to find a moisturiser and cleanser that is available in the UK and is good for acne prone/sensative skin? The price range would be anything less than A10.
There is so much information on here just finding choosing something difficult. At the moment everything i use is made by neutrogena.
Thanks v.much! ben
I was just wondering if i could use Aloe Vera gel as a moisturizer...! Thank in advance...! This Regime sounds like its helping a lot of ppl...and im definitly gonna giv it a try!
Aloe vera gel as a moisturizer? I guess it would be ok if it has an SPF factor. You basically need something with sunscreen in it.

Ppl dont believe that you can SEE and FEEL the difference in that short amount of time but you can. Ive been using this well over a month now and my skin is bright, clear, and soft as a baby butt! No lie!!! And i always had rocky road skin before!
