hi. i really want to start dermastamping my acne scars. but-i am terrified. it sounds so risky and violent-to harm yourself like that. also-to do it myself-and i am not a doctor-sounds insane.
so-has anyone here suffered from any kind of damage because of derma stamping? scars? skin tearing? pigmentation? please share.
thanks a lot!
Ugh, what kind of damage, Kay? I don't plan on ever rolling my face....too scared to do anything all over any more. I do want to try stamping sometime. Just cuious what kind of damage could result from needling. I am always so worried about making my skin worse while trying to fix it since it has already happened to me before.

Just little tears with the dermaroller, my own neglect. I just find the stamp where you insert the needles up and down, and not roll that can cause tiny micro tearing, better. I was just too aggressive, it was at the way beginning of my treatment and I was pretty frantic about it.
I don't think my treatment would be going along as well without the stamp. I rotate stamping with tca peels and the stamp is the only reason I'm seeing results on deeper scars. I would highly recommend dermastamping, even after my amateur mistake with the roller. I'm treating boxcar and rolling scars, I don't know if how well it'd help icepick.

Thanks, Kay!! I have read that single needling is best for ice picks, but I do have this one wide indented scar that I don't know if you'd call a boxcar. It isn't very deep but it has dicoloration, is very close to my mouth where it is noticeable, and I really hate it. I am mostly interested in the stamp for that. I am planning on ordering a couple stamps (maybe a 1.0 and a 1.5mm) from owndoc, and also a couple sets of their single needles. I also have a chicken pox scar that is pretty deep that I might try to stamp just to see if it helps, though it doesn't bother me too much. I see what you mean about the roller, though. I have heard that if any of the needles are bent or if you aren't super careful you can tear the skin and leave track marks. Anyway, that is awesome that the dermastamp is helping you!!
Kay24 may I ask you what needle size are you using?
I use a 1.5mm 80 needle stamp from owndoc. The purple and clear one. It's 1.5, but the website says because it has more needles it doesn't penetrate as deep. I just use that stamp and take vitamin c to aid healing.
