So I have these scars on my chin for quite sometime. Like many people with scars they make me very self conscious and very depressed. I need to know what type they are and what I should do about them?

 

I have been recommended trying an IPL as well as " fraxel" treatment. Both of which I am very hesitant about.

Depressed scar. Needs to be lifted so I suggest going Subcision with or without filler.

Is subcision something that gets done by a plastic surgeon?

I cant even see a scar lol. go to the scar gallery and see what really bad acne leaves behind. Buy a dermaroller and see what you can achieve without all the slicing and dicing

It's below the left side of his lip .And yeah, subcision needs to be performed by a physician

Well you're in luck because this is a relatively easy fix. Get subcision with or without filler like Robertito said. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can do it. I can see you getting 90% improvement in this case, which in my book is a cure.

Run away from whatever derm suggested IPL or fraxel for those scars, they are just trying to take your money

Subcision for sure, should be quite easy to fix.
