I just started taking isotretinoin around two months ago, mainly for my terrible chest/back acne. I had moderate acne on my face several years back, but I've never really had any problems since.
A few weeks after starting isotretinoin I had a minor breakout on my face, which I've heard is not uncommon, but since then I've been left with a red blotchy patch. What's interesting is that I haven't had any new pimples or blackheads form on my cheek for several weeks, and instead of red "bumps" which my acne is usually like, I have these red "indents".
Does anyone know if these marks are active acne sites or are from scarring? Any help getting them to go away would be amazing as well!
I have attached a picture below!
Those are acne scars with some post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. For the ice pick scars, you can do a TCA cross (you can do at home) or laser resurfacing (pay money to do it at a dermatologist's office) and they will eventually get a lot better. As for the 'redness' I've found that applying vitamin C and some retinoids can help.
