The story started when I picked on a hyperpigmentation scar a few weeks ago and managed to create an open wound on my face.
I applied lotion and covered it with a bandage. For the first few days, the sides of the wound starts closing up together and wound becomes smaller.
But then the wound stops getting smaller and starts to form a thin film of skin (?). So basically it is now a big flaming red mark. It is flat and feels perfectly normal but the redness won't go away!
Can anyone tell me what it is and how I can get rid of it? I've got a family photo to take soon and I'm hoping to get rid of it within a week or so
You're not going to get rid of hyperpigmentation in a week, and messing with it is going to make it more damaged. That thin film of skin is healing it. Leave it on there. Keep moisturizing it, don't pick the film or any flakes that come, it's like a mini scab that's needed to heal. Rub the dead skin off it the day before your picture, put cucumber on it to reduce redness.
