Hello everyone,I'm new around here, but I've been searching acne.org for advice for a while now so I thought I'd share a photo and ask if anyone knew exactly what this is.I'm not sure myself. Is it rosacea? Or hyper pigmentation, or broken capillaries or something else? It's a sort of permanent redness in the area of my cheeks, which were plagued by some pretty bad acne for 2-3 years, which later cleared and has been mostly clear for the past 4-5 years with just some mild and infrequent breakouts. It's somewhat better in the morning when I'm paler overall. I took the photo at night and this is about as bad as it gets.I'd appreciate any advice or knowledge that anyone has on this =)

That's Erythema and lingering hyper pigmentation. You can improve it dramatically by getting Vbeam Perfecta. 2-4 sessions should do the trick.

I strongly suggest you wear sunscreen religiously as well.

To me it looks more like rosacea than hyperpigmentation, just because its an overall dull redness vs. single spots that are red and look acne-like. I would ask a dermatologist to make sure though, since I'm not a professional :)

Use hydrocortisone 1% cream for 15 days , your skin will turn normal & don't use Soap for 4-5 days . But If you want then you can visit to a demterologist

Looks very similar to my skin, post-accutane. I'll upload a picture but it looks different in the lighting I took the photo in. I'm thinking it could be slight hyper pigmentation, rather than rosacea. Mine in pretty much constantly red too, which isn't from the accutane medication because I finished taking it over 2 months ago. I also have hyper pigmentation marks on my back, do you have it anywhere else or is it just on your face? I'm seeing my dermatologist on the 2nd of February though so I'll be sure to ask about it and get back to you. Also, I noticed under your eye you have some white dots, which could be Milia. (Like I have, as you can see in the picture).

I also plan to ask about if a chemical peel would do the trick.

Thanks, Harry. I'd like to hear what your derm has to say about it. I do have some hyperpigmentation marks on my back from old acne but it's kind of more localized and not just red all over my back. Oh and this is the first time I hear about this milia. Is it treatable?
