Can anyone kindly tell me what types of scars do I have? I am not very good at analysing the types of scars. In addition, can someone tell me which scar treatment should I opt for?
It seems like boxcar and icepick. However, these scars will be smoothen out if I stretch the skin and I read somewhere that rolling scars can be stretched. So, now I am confused.
Thanks for all of your help in advance!
Uhm, no. You need to do your research on the causes of acne scars. They are caused by serious inflammation from cystic acne. Picking at them can increase inflammation and thus worsen scarring but are not the "cause". This is a common misconception and a very frustrating one. I NEVER popped my pimples yet I have very deep scarring. I'm not trying to sound malicious but it's these ignorant statements that make us scar sufferers feel very isolated.
Not to mention that manuka honey will do absolutely nothing for pitted scarring. They are the result of loss of tissue and misaligned collagen.
Skin scars like yours often results when you pop your pimples. Avoid doing it next time. Try applying manuka honey cream to your face, this one works with my acne and old acne scars. Hope it will help you too.

Have you tried using manuka honey? I'm actually using both Manuka Honey moisturizer and collagen cream and it works on my acne scar.
I get that you're trying to be helpful, but you sound a lot like I did my first few years of acne when I thought slathering vitamins on my face would cure my acne and scars. It doesn't work like that. Inflammation from cysts literally destroy tissue in the skin, it can not be regrown by any topical cream. Treatments like subcision, needling and laser treatments are the only way to reduce the appearance of them. Even then, there is no way to completely get rid of a scar. A scar is just that, a scar, it is permanent.
To the OP, I would strongly suggest multiple treatments, starting with subcision + suction as your scars appear to be tethered. TCA cross might also work for some of your scars, from there on resurfacing procedures such as needling (I'd recommend the dermapen) for a uniform tightening effect would give you good results. Just remember it's a slow process and results are gradual not overnight.
Manuka honey, lemon juice, and whatever else you can get from the kitchen will do nothing for scars. When will these wives tales be put to bed? Sheesh!
OP, these look like a combination of some deep boxcar and ice pick scars with some rolling scars scattered about. Typically these are the harder types of scars to treat. Rolling scars are "easier" to treat in the sense that the overlying skin is essentially normal / smooth so they can be subcised and / or filled and be made flush with the surrounding skin. Deep boxcars and icepicks can be treated with punch excisions and TCA Cross. These methods come with risk though because excisions can heal badly, making the scar worse (happened to me), or made wider and deeper with TCA Cross if your skin reacts badly.
It's important though to get your acne under control.

I haven't tried it because I have no idea that manuka honey cream exists!

Oh. I am looking into subcision too. But not really very sure. Cos my scars look mix, but I don't really want to spend money on consultation fees to know that I can't proceed with subcision.

I tried fraxel. However, I am not too sure about the results, because it seems to widen my scars.
awww u poor thing, u have rolling and box card scar, i have scars like urs to im getting dermerbraction and 2 passes of frictal and maybe subsuction and punch
When are you getting your treatments or have you already undergone the treatments?
Really touched at the support and advice all of you have given ^^
All collagen induction treatments will widen your scars, but they will be shallower and will blend better with the rest of your skin. Subcision and fillers are really the only scar treatments that basically plump up scars. Subcision is very cheap compared to other scar revision treatments.
Blahblahblah actually made a good point suggesting punch excision. That's a good option for your scars too.
There are a good amount of doctors who offer a free consult, so you don't necessarily have to spend money to be told you don't qualify. Whatever you do though, don't buy package deals or prepay for anything. Those are usually money making scams run by medspas and not real doctors. Don't waste time with medspas or doctors that aren't true plastic surgeons or dermatologists.

Okay, sure! (: Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone,
I have decided to get subcision treatment. But, I can only get in during January next year. Thank you all for all the help and support!
I had fraxel dual that's one treatment every month for 4 months and I hate to say it didn't do anything for me, I also had 3 or 4 fraxel restores, a couple affirms, a couple perfectas and a couple smoothbeam lasers all by a laser specialist. To me it wasn't worth the money. I went for a fat transfer that helped and now needling. I might try 50% tca for the pitted scars.
I also have filler done once in a while. But subcision & suction method sound good too. Laser gave me fat loss, that's why I needed the filler and the fat transfer. I wouldn't do laser anymore. It burns your skin and you can get texture orange peel looking skin and scars. A lot of doctors who used to do lasers stopped because people weren't happy with the results & some had damage that's hard to fix if you can fix it at all. Read up on realself the only ones who say they liked it are the ones who have dark spots and the ones who post too early and see swelling that goes down in a few months then their back to square one and less money in their pockets. It will not help the pitted scars. those need tca cross or to be punched out. Just warning you because I was damaged over 7 yrs ago and still trying to fix the damage from lasers
