Indented Scars Do Disappear

I'm not going to bore you guys with a long acne story. I'm only here since I've noticed a lot of fear and uncertainty about acne scars healing. The fact is that people who have positive experiences with treatments rarely ever report them, while those with negative ones are all over the internet. I'm here to share my positive story.

Almost a year ago, I was diagnosed with severe inflammatory and cystic acne. You know it's severe when a dermatologist himself tells you so. I was 26 and prior to that I did have acne but extremely mild. 1-2 spots a month but otherwise great skin. However I went through a major personal crisis and literally in a matter of a few weeks my skin went from clear to a full blown acne nightmare. Won't go into much more detail since I've written a thread on that earlier.
One course of isotretinoin, 5 sessions of spectra laser toning and 3 sessions of sellas fractional laser later, my acne has settled and the previous scars have filled up. Not all indents but I've seen at least three fill up completely and I have no doubt the others will fill in too. The irony? I still breakout. I had a couple of pretty massive pimples last week itself but I'm just about to start off on Epiduo which I believe will cure it once and for all.
My point is that don't be discouraged when you still breakout despite isotretinoin and other medication. My trigger was emotional stress and I know how beautifully my skin heals when I'm simply happier. For anyone going through something similar and for everyone in general, do gratitude affirmations. When done in conjunction with conventional treatments, it will yield results. Most people just take either the modern medicine route or the prayer route. Real results however are achieved with synergy.
I don't have a picture of myself with all the indents so you'll have to take my word for it. Plus, I don't like to keep memories of things I want to erase. I erased all the pictures of the time since I don't want to be reminded of everything I felt when I saw myself in that state. But I can click and upload any current ones if you guys want.
By the way, my own dermatologist said that it's entirely possible for indents to disappear but none of them will ever admit to it since they know it's subjective and don't want to mislead their patients. But he too is amazed at the rate mine are filling up. Guys - scars have the highest chance of healing when treatment starts early. So don't read the negative hype about lasers but do ensure that you go to a reputed dermatologist and not a spa or beauty therapist.
Here's my routine for those who are interested.
Cleanse - Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser
Moisturise - Bioderma Sensibio Forte
Sunscreen - Blue lizard daily moisturiser SPF 30
Shave - Gillette Pure and sensitive shave gel.
Treatment - Epiduo nightly (starting today)
Do let me know if you guys have any questions. I'll update this thread consistently if there's sufficient interest in my progress :) I really hope that each one of you reading this and all acne sufferers in general see results like me.
An important disclaimer: please stay away from yellow and fluorescent lights at all times. They will always exaggerate your flaws and make you feel like there's no progress. My soul has been tormented many times looking into them. Just recently I caught a glimpse at a super brightly lit mirror in a department store and I felt nothing had changed in my skin at all. The best way to measure progress is through natural light that falls in your bathroom mirror in the morning. Or through actual people telling you how your skin looks. What we see will always be a major exaggeration. Also try and obsess less over your skin. I know from my experience that whenever I became too paranoid and upset about my skin I would break out. It's hard to believe that you look good even with acne and scars but I was told I look nice even during the peak of my skin crisis - by random women I met. Not that I believe it myself but it just goes to show that there are always people who appreciate you regardless of your flaws. Also, I think acne came into my life to teach me the life lessons of coping, patience and being less obsessed with the way I look. As I see myself getting involved in meaningful pursuits of life, exploring my talents, and doing things I love, my skin seems to be taking good care of itself.
Feel free to get in touch here for any queries. I'll document my epiduo journey too, even if one person is interested. Let's start a positive thread wherein we believe that all our skin problems WILL disappear. And we won't take no for an answer from the universe!
Love and light to you all.

First of all I praise you for the positivity and I'm so glad and delighted to find out that other people are having actual progress, But unfortunately not everybody is destined to find a way out of this twisted reality.

I myself had to undergo so many treatments and procedures and it didn't help whatsoever but I think it definitely had something to do with dermatologists being very inefficient in my country and I'm not kidding they really are greedy and have no clue what they are doing. I can relate myself to your sentence (while those with negative ones are all over the internet) Don't get me wrong nothing makes me more happy than seeing people getting better or any kind of problem sorted out even as I'm suffering at the exact same moment, On the other hand some other people can't just put an end to this endless nightmare of absolute misery because we pay money to go through painful physical and psychological experiences and yet not even the slightest improvement can we see but sometimes it actually makes your scars and condition get exponentially worse just like it did to me.

It might look like I'm trying to promote for negative thoughts on such a positive experience but I'm actually so happy that you're living your life to the fullest I was just trying to clarify that some people don't have a choice because life can get so disgusting sometimes to the point that it doesn't give them a chance to take their breath or even acknowledge positivity anymore because the moment they accept the foul reality is the moment they just give up on having slight hope and that's why they keep rejecting the way it is to keep on living as they aren't satisfied with how they look because of a damned condition making their faces look like bumpy roads !

@Paigems: Great to know that you experienced positive results too :)

@Khaled91: I can understand how difficult this phase of your life must be. Sometimes dermatologists can take us for a ride. Are you sure that there's no scope to undo any damage from these treatments? Where do you stay? I'm from India and I don't mean to boast but our doctors are well equipped to deal with even seemingly impossible cases. The derm I consulted has worked on some of the most severely scarred faces and improved it to almost 80-90%. If you're ever here, I could direct you to him. And our derms, even the top ones, charge a fraction of what those in US do - for consultation and treatments. For example, fractional laser here costs less than $100. With the exact same technology and machines.Just for the record, I did SELLAS fractional laser, which has minimal downtime and is gentler than the others. Similar to Fraxel restore.
