The vast majority of people with cystic acne will develop some kind of texture issues. It can vary from actual atrophic scarring to "dull" looking skin. I have seen people who recovered from severe cases of acne with pretty decent looking skin, but I've yet to meet anyone with baby smooth skin that previously had bad acne.

It's a roll of the die. Once all your active acne has stopped, scar treatment can become a reality. I would take scars any day over active acne.
