Day 3 Of Subcision And Fraxel Repair-Should I Do The Suction Method?

So I had subcision and fraxel repair (60 mj and 40 percent density and multiple passes done at all directions) on Friday. I know a lot of people advocate the suction method and I have a hand held suction that I had ordered from own doc but I am hesitant to use it as I just had a very high fraxel repair treatment right after my subcision and the scabs are almost all off. Should I wait to do the suction method when I do this procedure six months from now or start suction method tomorrow?

Thanks!

Since there's already trauma from the subcision AND the laser, it may not be a good idea to combine the suction, especially if you have scabs. I would normally suggest suctioning after subcision, but in this case I'd let your skin heal. If you don't get the results you're looking for, definitely try subcision + suction, just not in conjunction with laser resurfacing.

Thank you! I will wait and see how it heals. So far I have minimal bruising from subcision because the doctor said it wasn't too bound down. I will properly report my results two to three weeks from now!

You may not see improvement for up to three months after both procedures, but perhaps post some progress pictures (if you're comfortable with that) and/or updates. Some people starting seeing some results 4 weeks after, although usually minimal.

I've heard doctors make the analogy that newly resurfaced skin is like "wet cement." Meaning you must have a strict hands-off policy until it heals because any little trauma or nick can leave scars on the newly forming skin. The new epidermis that is regenerating is very fragile.
