Hi,
I have had scars for about 1 month or so now (well that's how long ago I noticed).
So they've probably not long formed. I don't know if they're still forming or what! Could they still be forming? (ie. will get deeper?)
I have read that people say give them 1 year so they can form and do any healing before you go making decisions on treatments.
What can I expect to happen to them over the next few months, even the next year?
Are they likely to get worse seeing as they're quite new?
Or are they likely to get any better?
If people could let me know what they noticed with their own scarring I would be grateful.
Just want to know what to expect.
Will they get worse as they 'mature'?
I am young, 22, so if I don't to anything in the next 2 years to help them, will they get worse in that time?
What should I be doing now? Would topicals that help to build and stimulate collagen help?
I don't really want to go blasting my face with lasers just yet.
I totally understand how you feel. They COULD look worse as they mature. It's really hard to say what to do. You could try derma-rolling/stamping or using Retin-a and Vitamin C. It's all kind of a crap shoot since sometimes stuff works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it makes it worse. Just do your research and take whatever level of risk you feel comfortable with.
