Sometime last year, I had a spot that I couldn't help popping. I put a topical treatment over night, and in the morning it was dried on my skin so I tried to peel it off. Instead, I apparently grabbed a piece of skin, and ripped it clean off. Ever since then, there has been a blotchy red area around where I ripped my skin and it won't go away. It has been at least half a year since the original damage.

It looks maybe slightly indented (barely noticeable...) and maybe a little bit rougher than normal, it's hard to tell--the main thing I notice is the redness.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this (ripping off skin followed by long period of redness)? How can I make it go away??
