Hi everyone! I'm new here and just wanted to see what kind of advice you guys can give me on my scars. I see you are all so helpful and full of knowledge and being completely clueless any info would be greatly appreciated! I had cystic acne about 8 years ago that left some deep scars. I want to look into getting them treated but would like advice into what treatments work best on my type of scarring. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I attached pictures..hopefully I did it right and they show up lol
if you have money, do a few fraxel laser treatments with a good derm who has done many...concurrently have them do subscision on your deeper indented rolling scars, you'll have to have a few treatments of each
check out MrMatt posts, he is the expert here on subscision and has had great results
you could do fillers, but that is only temporary, unless you are brave enough to try silicone, and the results there seem positive but it just seems scary to me
our scars are very similar...I've done the fraxels, and know I concentrate on my remaining rolling areas with a derma stamp, just 0.5mm but I keep at it every 10 days or so
if you don't have money to do the bigger treatments, go to the owndoc.com forum and read up on self rolling...sounds scary but done properly it does give results particularly to our types of scarring
good luck, keep us posted and let me know if you have any questions...I've been there done that
as mrsrobinson said ,if you have a budget , i think you are good candidate for subcision and fractional co2 laser (total fx or fraxel repair),or fillers with subcision , or may be the three together , but be aware from discoloration cuz you have dark skin type , look for that http://www.realself.com/review/salt-lake-city-ut-acne-scars-treatment-acne-scar-treatment-subcision-fotoma
and if you are out of budget you can try derma stamp at home with retin a cream or vitamin c serum, i hope that help you
I'd say few months Retin A, couple Tca Peels 20%+~ while dermarolling/stamping with the suction method once every 4-6 weeks. After 6 months look into subcision with fillers or even saline injections..
Don't go straight to lasers that's a stupid move unless you're a multi thousandair.
