When it seems all other treatments have failed.. Got a qoute for $225 per treatment with between 3-10 treatments needed.

I have the dermaroller and have rolled a few times. Nothing really changed. I have been looking into the dermapen for texture, scarring, and pigmentation. My skin does look a little orange lol:) The derm would use the dermapen and then treat with a 25% tca peel right afterwards. I would need 3-10 treatments to see improvement. Peels alone have never helped me but perhaps with the dermapen it might make a difference:)

you should give aha glycolic acid 10% lotion a chance

it can work really good in a month ,you should see some results each week if you use it at morning and night everytime you wash it off you should see improvements slowly

also you can do 25% tca peel yourself if you buy it on amazon for $30

i genuinely recommend giving the lotion a shot first instead of wasting $225 for each treatment because needling also has a downtime your skin might be red for a week maybe and you probably gonna do it every couple weeks or a month ? then i would give the lotion a shot first but its up to you lol

Dont mind the downtime. Dont like wasting money on treatments that dont work though. I havent read too much on the dermapen other than a few that have claimed it has helped. So i thought I might give this a try.

Anyone else with experience with the dermapen think I could benefit from this type of treatment? Nervous to get more failed treatments. Need some encouragement! I could do more Ipl treatments for pigmentation issues although from what I have read the dermapen is supposed to help with that also.

Under my chin I have some scarring. Also looking into subcision with a filler for those rolling scars or again the dermapen treatments. Not sure which would give me more satisfying results?

My opinion is that Dermapen would work well for you. Your scarring looks pretty shallow, and I think Dermapen does well for skin tone. I just had my second Dermapen treatment yesterday so very much in the recovery process from that. But after my first treatment, I definitely got good improvement in skin tone and tightening, with maybe a small improvement in my scarring (I have more boxcar and rolling scars than you do). That's obviously just my opinion based on only a little experience, hopefully someone further down the road with things can weigh in...

I have decided instead to try out my dermaroller again myself tonight (since I already own one). If after a few treatments at home and no results I will go with the dermapen. Wish me luck!!!!:)

I rolled last and I dont think that I did a good enough job so I am trying again tonight. I realized after watching videos today that you have to be aggressive. I hope that in a few months I will notice some change. Fingers crossed!

Decided to book the appointment for the dermapen and also tca cross with a chemical peel for next Friday. Skeptical but hopeful!!

Feeling undecided...

Like I said I am scheduled next week for the dermapen with cross and I am feeling unsure right now if I should go ahead with treatment. Based on the before and after photos I have seen surfing the internet I honestly have not really seen anything that impressed me. I have read a few here that claimed good success but I haven't seen really good before and afters in same light.

Feeling like maybe I should cancel and just get ipl treatments for my melasma since I do get results for that:) I dislike spending my $ with no results.

Anyone have any good pics or something that might reassure me that the dermapen is worth it!

Thank you Frasier.

I ended up rolling again at home last night because I am so impatient:) Rolled harder than last time so I did get some pin point bleeding. Still not sure if I should keep my appointment. $225 is a lot of money for me and esp. if I have to do it several times. In addition to that I pay 300 for Ipl treatments for my melasma . Its a lot of $$$$. My scarring bothers me more though so I am willing to pay but part of me wonders if this is a scam and a waste of $.

Has anyone here ever compared the generics dermapens to the genuine one? I know there have been reports that the generic version leaves tearing, but I am unsure about the genuine Dermapen.

the thing is your scar is located in an area that RARELY scars. I have no idea how that pimple look like, but you must have fucked with it hard to get an indent on your top lip..

i did not have a pimple. i had actinic keratosis. i did make it the area worse by burning it with dimethyl ether. yes the scar is ugly and my life has suffered tremendously from it.

Skullkid87

That scar is nothing my friend.....I would not even think twice about it honestly. Its just disappointing to me that the dermapen made no difference with it.

Now what the heck can I do??????

Just a little rant from me and I am sure some people can relate....

When I look at my skin...more like study my skin:) I think okay its not too bad. Its when I see someone with significant scarring that it will give me anxiety and I then have to constantly check myself to see if what I see on others is what is going on with me. This is such a big consuming part of my life and very saddening to me. I feel obsessed at certain points in my life. Very frustrating. Some people say its mild but I for whatever reason always question if I took a bad picture? Im in good lighting? or they dont want to hurt my feelings....I was hoping that I might find a procedure that would help so I could bring myself out of this hell I sometimes feel but this dermapen isnt looking so good right now:(

Sorry about the rant. Just needed to get that out.

In reply to Skullkid87, you shouldn't even have done dermapen on a single scar. No offense, but if you would've done the research you would have realized that it would be a complete waste of time to have dermapen treatment on one scar. You should have used a dermastamp, or single needling in addition to saline injections. Those might have actually have made a difference.

But after saying all of that, your scar is nothing, why you felt you needed to treat it is beyond me.
