Hey everyone,

So I could use some help. I've been dealing with acne and scarring for about 5 years now and could really use some advice on what to do. I attached two photos so anyone who wouldn't mind helping can get a better idea. thanks. I alternate between using rosehip oil through the day/night, then the next day I use The skin doctors Gamma Hydroxy skin resurfacing cream. I used to use the Murad Acne kit but I switched over to this with pretty much no difference. I'm also in the process of trying to get my hands on an Aloe vera plant, but it's proving to be difficult in a small town in the winter.

Haha appreciate the kind words, the picture looks better then they really are, I'll try to get a better one under harsher lighting. If you look closely you can see shallow scarring and pigment issues that i've had for years, so I'm just wondering what is the best way to get these taken care of? I also plan on doing punch excision or something like that on the large scar, or would TCA cross be effective too?

i would try punch excision because it cuts out the scar completely

What about punch grafting? As that's one of the only surgical procedures that I can do without going out of the province.

retin a will not help ice pick scars at all

the idea about retin a is not improving that's one small scar , but improve the texture of skin beside the scar , that's will make skin more smooth and acceptable , like if someone have shallow scars but beside them there are redness, hyperpigmentation and bad skin texture, that's will make scars look more worse . and may be retin a over long period improve the edges of scar and look more good..

Yea that would be good. Go on Retin A or some type of exfoliator for atleast 1 month and start off with 15% and work your way up.

What about pure aloe vera from a plant, would that help the texture?

C'mon bro, just use a good primer (like smashbox photofinish) and you're good to go. Your scarring is minimal, be happy!
