Can Anyone Look At My Picture And Recommend Treatment? I'm Getting Very Depressed

In short, I'm very depressed. The front of my face is clear as can be. The sides of my face and neck have been nightmares for 3 years. Been to a dermatologist 8 times, I got 2 laser operations 2 years ago with no results, a chemical peel that made my skin worse, I tried Finacea, Hydroquinone, Aczone, and Differin. My skin was getting better a year ago and now it's getting worse for a reason unbeknownst to me.

For the past 5 months this has been my routine

Morning

Facial Foam Cleanser Witch Hazel Rosewater Toner Paula's choice Red Mark Reducer (salicylic acid and hydroquinone) Paula's Choice Moisturizer with 25 SPF sunscreen

Night Cleanse again Tone again Red Mark Reducer RESIST Moisturize Indian Clay Mask (1ce or 2ce a week)

My chest, shoulders, and back are terrible too. I've been using an exfoliating brush with Selsun Blue Salicylic Acid wash. I used to use a BP wash which did nothing, and grapefruit wash which barely helped.

I change my pillowcases every other day, and I wash my sheets every week. I also put a new shirt on every day. The right side of my face is way worse than my left, but both are terrible. I don't know what to do and I'm hesitant to see a derm who won't help again.

If they are red marks they will take years to fade

To fade hyperpiigemntation you need to exfoliate, as this helps shed the old skin and reveal the newer skin. You can do thi swith a chemical exfoliant like a glycolic acid facewash, or you could use the srubs with micro-beads in but these can sometimes be irritating, esp if you have active acne.

You could use a retinoid, like differin, which is a chemical exfoliant too.

Suncream prevents them getting darker.

Drinking water helps improve complexion to some extent, as well as massaging the area which helps improve circulation.

Please dont worry, these marks arent physically painful. Be glad its not scarring or cysts.

Now, seeing as you are having trouble maybe try a skin lightner? Glycolic acid facewash from SK:N was the only thing that got rid of mine after a while, but time is the best healer.

Also, as the marks are probably flat there is no harm in covering them as long as you use a cover up that does not irritate you, and you are clean.

Good luck

I disagree, for me and my vast exfoliation experience, all exfoliation has made my red marks much worse over time.

You need to let your skin heal to get rid of this scar tissue. To speed up the healing, you can take things nutritionally. Things that help speed up the process of healing are vitamin a,c,e, omega 3s, amino acids, zinc, and bromelain.

Exfolaition worked for me and many others, Like many things it all depends on your own skin.

I agree that manually scrubbing can irritate and make marks worse, but glycolic acid is naturally derived from the sugar cane and even has anti-ageing properties, it is by far the best thing that has worked for my skin

I saw so many good reviews about glycolic acid, but as for me it didn't do anything... I have very little improvements after 5-6 procedures. I also didn't see any exfoliation after peel, is that normal? I used 50%.

I use a glycolic acid facewash, and it worked for me after a few days. Many people say how the peels are great, im having one sometime when i go back home.

Everyones skin is different though, some dont see improvments

Can you not use skin lightning cream for the red marks? I've read Hydroquinine does wonders if used correctly.
