I'm 16, I'm asian, I have indents on my temple and I take vitamins and I apply Vitamin C on my temple and all over my face. I use clarisonic and I was twice a day. I use clarisonic only at night. What I want to know, is will these scars go away over time? I have slow healing skin and the indents are deep. Also, I have icepicks and they are somewhat shallow. I want to know if those will go away over time too? Thank you for your time. I hope you have a great new years! smile.png I also want to know if sleep affects the scarring, I stay up late sometimes.

They're not deep and look fresh, most likely will improve. Check with your derm see if he can give you advice. I think Retin A would do you good.

I'm trying to lose weight and I don't want them to look worse. They don't look really deep on these pictures, but I think I've had them for about six months? I keep cleaning them. Do you think they will fill, and if they were to, do you think they would fill in just a few months? Thank you.

Also, if you look on the second picture, I have a sunspot. Why? because I looked online and they said it was good to stay on sunlight to cure acne! Now I have dark spots and a sunspot! How would I cure the sunspot, completely eviscerating it? Sorry if I ask too many questions.

The fraxel non-ablative laser skincare treatment will smooth these out. Hopefully it will be covered under your dermatologist, otherwise it can be pricey.

its always better to go with fraxel abative lasers rather than non abative

you want the best treatment you can get if you want really good results

I've read so many posts today. I think Retin-A may do more harm then good. I'm thinking of just sticking with my regimen. Also, I've read that lasers can be damaging too. I guess only time will tell. :( I suppose I must wait a year or two to see results from time. The thing is, I can't really afford a laser! I'm only 16! I have had terrible acne but they've gone away. Now I have scarring and icepicks, which I've read from many posts, and they say those are permanent! I feel really terrible, and I need answers. Thank you.

Why do you think Retin A will do any harm?

It causes the skin to age and it can make pores bigger. I'm just worried it may do more harm than good.

I have icepicks too, and some nasty boxcars and maybe a few rolling.

Thank you for replying though. :)

Wow, great article. I borwsed this website and some say they've gotten new scars. Perhaps it was because of the lack of sun protection? I don't know who to believe at this point, but nytimes is a really reliable source, and I thank you for supporting your claims by this source. Also, does Retin-A work on ice pick scarring? And if not, what does it work on best? Thank you.

Thing is people that get negative affects are usually the ones that use it unproperly, iether they use too much, too frequent, use no suncreen or no mousturizer. Retin A, in my opinion will help you even out your skin tone and help fill in your moderate scarring.

Have you ever used it? Will it work on my ice pick scars? Will it work on my boxcar scars? Will it close my pores? And how long does it take? I'm going to try to get it prescribe soon.Sorry for throwing a lot of questions on you. You seem very knowledgeable! :) Thank you for your help so far. :)

I'm not really knowledgeable I'm just basing on what I have researched deeply this past week. Before you take my word or anyone's on the web I suggest you talk to a professional regarding this subject..you're 16 beg your parents to take you, as having aesthetically pleasing skin that you're comfortable with is very important in life especially in teens. I'm 18 so I know what's up!

Hey Robert, before I go, I have a final question.Do you think these are shallow?

I heard that retin-a helps even out texture, but is it too indented? Will it go away with time? Thanks.

When I look in the mirror, I feel they are as deep as the ones in the google search. sad.png Is this a psychological thing, or is it just me? And by improved, do you mean like 100 percent improved? I was browsing this website, and they say that acne scars can't be improved by 100 percent. I feel crushed. Is this true??

If they are deep enough in your opinion, you should be getting the treatment you need. Even people with "moderate" scars should be doing all the treatments possible to improve their look. The average person doesn't have any significant skin damage like acne scars or major redness, so it makes sense to want to do everything possible to at least have average skin.

There is nothing wrong in trying laser treatment. It is really worth it. The price can range from place to place. Ypu can talk with your dermatologist aout this. I got the scar on my right eye from an accident when i was 5 yrs old. It has always bothered me but I never thought there was anything I could do to fix it, until I met Dr. Jain from fairview clinic, Toronto. He listened to what I wanted and was very confident that he could improve my scar. I am so happy Dr. jain was able to revise my scar using laser treatment, after just 3 months it is almost invisible! It was a surgical excision, the healing process took about 2 weeks before my bruising went away and it takes about 4 weeks for the incision to close up. I had the tape on my face 24/7 for 3 months.
