Hello,

I have a problem that is bothering me already for more than half a year... In february i got bad cystic acne between my eyes above nose , 3 of them.( dont know how to describe that better ). I used ichtoxyl ( black salve ) on it, so they became white heads and i popped them. Now its more than half a year since it happened and i still have slightly red bumps there and it is driving me crazy. I have no idea what to do about it. I went to my dermatologist and she prescribed me Duac gel. Now i am using it for like 2-3 weeks and didn't notice a single difference. Is there something else i could try to do ? It looks horrible when i am outside :( . Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Pimples usually go away in 2weeks max. I never heard of a pimples exist for 6months. Maybe it hardened. Try putting a heat pad on it or shrinking it with ice. Could be something else.

I have the exact same thing and I saw someone on this board recommend spot-treating with salicylic acid, but I haven't tried it yet so I don't know about its efficacy.

The worst thing is, that not everything works on you as it does on someone else :( This way we can keep trying without any results :(

Let me clarify what you are dealing it. You have raised (hypertrophic scars), these occur when there was deeper damage to skin done, that means, it affected deeper layer of skin.

I have them myself, on my nose. 2 by cystic pimple, 1 by microdermabrasion.

Deeper damage done... that makes sense, since the cystic acne was REALLY huge... Well, do you have any idea how to deal with it ? :D

I have been searching for a way to reduce these myself, what I have been searching for is something that would work on hypertrophic scars, this is what I have found:

I found hemorrhoid cream that works on hypertrophic scars, essential oils, enzymes (serraptetase and nattokinase), vitalzym (enzymes+other ingredients), manuka honey and manuka oil, then gotu kola, sangre de drago, massages, needling, silica "drink", florasil, micropore tape (and other tapes), thyme oil, tamanu oil, vinegar method, edgar cayce scar oil recipe, saliva, urine therapy, celandula oil (well, this is more for intended scars, but worth a try),germ oil, Helichrysum oil, black seed oil, arnica oil, dr max scar serum, avocado oil, aloe vera, invincible scars, emu oil, old urine for topical application, retin A, castor oil, lugols iodine, dmso, salicylic acid, copper peptides, WATER/JUICE FASTING.

From everything I have found so far, the most effective indeed sounds castor oil, and then rosehip oil and avocado oil, and perhaps also Helichrysum oil.

Perhaps I would include silicone based creams/tapes, but after trying Kelo-Cote for 7-8 days (on one scar) and 4-5 days (on other), and seeing how much worse it made them, I decided not to include such things.

Kelo-Cote made them more raised, dyed and raised color ON and AROUND the scars as well, that means skin that was both affected and not affected by scar tissue.

Use silicone based products at your own risk wink.png.

!!! ALL things that I have included in this message have been researched a lot, and I mean, a lot, I read many forums, threads, topics, etc. on various websites during 2,5 months. People had good experiences with them, and they were used for either hypertrophic or keloid scars !!! (maybe except for celandula oil).

Of course, you can count on one thing: they probably have a risk of making your scars worse at the same time, so research about such effects as well, I focused only on positive reviews and experiences wink.png.

P.S - little more controversial, but perhaps Quantum Healing/quantum body sculpting? Not sure if it works, there is a chance that it is a scam, but who knows. There are pictures of before/after on one website focusing on it. If you are little more open minded, there is a chance it could work. I do not think you would have anything to lose either, maybe a few bucks, but at least there is absolutely no chance of making things worse ;).

Have you tried those things yourself too ? Like the oils and different stuff, did it work ? :D So far i am using the duac gel which has benzoyl peroxide in it... thought that would help but still nothing :D
