Crazy Idea?

Brief scar history:

So, I have a heck of a lot of scars. I have three MASSIVE pitted scars on the left side of my face which are quite shallow and around 1.2 cm wide. (VERY noticeable). I also have lots of ice pick scars. More on my left hand side of my face rather than the right. I also have a 2-3 boxscars on both cheeks as well as rolling scars. Basically, my whole face is scarred. :(

So, I was thinking if I was to scratch the surface of the ice pick scars with a sterile needle until I bleed and then quickly apply wound cream on top of it to close the lesion and to form a scab over it will that reduce that scar underneath?? So I will have new skin forming over it?

I don't know if I sound crazy but SOMEONE may have thought of this too, somewhere. I REALLLY want to try this but I am scared of causing further damage to my ALREADY damaged skin.

:(

Any suggestions/ideas?

Don't do it. It might make the scar worse. Go to a surgeon and get subcision with a filler,

Don't be doing that, you need controlled damage (ie a dermastamp/ablation with light) not scratching willy-nilly.

Hi Binga and Nope.avi yes your probably, definitely right. Do the pits usually fade with time? I defo know ice picks and box scars don't budge so I will have to have some sort of treatments there. Anyone tried Dermarolling? Any success?

Scars I cannot. sad.png

I would not do any treatments yourself. It could get infected. See a plastic surgeon. You can benefit from lasers, subscision, dermabrasions, excisions etc.

Negative, the body see's nothing wrong with scars so it doesn't remodel them without interference.

I did self needling and i am happy with the result.

I did A LOT of research on it, speaking to derms and acupuncturists. I sterilised equipment and my skin too. I was not forceful.

Dont do anything when you are stressed though.

I had box scar on my nose.

Nope.avi is correct, scars are supposed to form when inflammation/wound healing is present. It's duck tape for our skin! ;) So, being natural our bodies are not going to correct it after it has formed because simply, nothing is wrong. So no amount of vitamins, supplements or creams are going to help.

In order to fix things you need to induce controlled trauma. And that is not what you'd get if you scratched at your skin. You'll more than likely end up with more scarring and possible infection. Skin needling (Dermaroller and the e-Derastamp) have literally tuned my life around. Happy to share my knowledge on it as I consider myself very knowledgeable about the treatments! :)

Do not self treat!

Thank-you everyone for replying. I think I will most likely get dermarolling treatments done professionally but of course I shall wait till the active breakouts have stopped for a good few months. Hopefully!

Merry xmas everyone :)
