Hello All,

So I have red burn scar which has not healed for over 1 year now. The scar is flat and maybe a bit concave because some layers of skin were destroyed and it seems they did not grow up. I tried almost everything from aloe cream to fraxel laser (1time) and pulsed dye laser (1 time) but nothing seems to work. Could You advise what treatment should be used?Your help would be very appreciated. Thank You in advance.

Is it flat, or indented? If it's the same level as your skin then you don't have scarring, but you do have PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation).

I have a large burn mark on my arm after stupidly putting my arm over a boiling kettle. That was December and the mark has gone from beet red to brown and I can still clearly see it. I'm not going to worry about it because marks like this can take anywhere from 6-24 months to fade. So in January 2015 I'll start to worry. tongue.png So for you, 1 year may just not be enough time for your body to tackle this. Everyone is different.

You can speed up the cell turnover and regeneration with constant Retin-a use. I pop a little on my arm every second night. Another good topical is Bio-Oil (used constantly, every morning/night). Honestly though, Fraxel?! No way I'd be going down that road. Fraxel can cause further redness so to me it makes no sense having those treatments for these kinds of marks.

Retin-a is your friend! And as DJM204 suggested, Dermarolling is another good option if you want this healed faster. smile.png
