@pineapple, my skin is much improved, I have not rolled in ages and no longer really feel the urge to do soo, infact not sure when I might roll/use the e derma stamp. My skin is now bearable, my initial problem was ice pic scars. To be 100% honest the only major flaws showing now are scars I treated with TCA cross! they are shallow but wider as a result of TCA cross, but improve with each roll/stamp, I can't even tell where my ice pick scars are now. My theory is due to the collagen induced or skin tightening effect of the rolls my scars improved as a result.
I will roll again perhaps when I have time but this time I will include Cicalfate cream which I belive will speed up my healing time.
I will update once I do soo.
And to recap I was depressed about my scars in the beginning, lost a lot of confidence, didn't go out much, now I'm meeting new people and getting on with things, very happy with my current outcome.
When I did my treatments I used 2mm rollers or set my e derma stamp to 2, bled a bit as it was intense, used super Cop serum, all of the items specified by the OP, the done time was long for me, usually almost a week and few days and even found my skin darkened from the treatment so it wasn't fun at all, I eventually needed fade creams to treat this after.
I did start my fight to rid myself of scars in 2012 and did roll on and off through out but something definitely changed when I used the stuff mentioned by the OP which I'm still greatful about. Pictures are motivational I agree but e derma stamps are really affordable and low risk compared to a lot of other options, if anyone needs pointers just pm.
Hey guys, I've been following this protocol and basically roll with a 1.5 - 2 week interval.
Approximately I've rolled for 1.5 months and I do believe I've seen some changes, although I will have to keep rolling to be certain.
I've been through 9 sessions of Fraxel Re:Store before this and dermarolled for a few times before I started this as well, trying to get some pics of my Fraxel sessions so I could use them as baseline.
CrispyCrater's have been very helpful to me personally when I PM him.
I've also added in some of the tips in this topic into my program such as MSM, Vit C, Zinc etc been meaning to add in some topicals to get rid of the pigmentation (freckles) and balance out the textures but damn dermaheal is expensive.
Crownroyal, thanks for the reply, I am so happy to hear that you have had improvement! And even happier your depression improved, i've been there so I completely understand.
I think I have the same issue as you because I have done tca cross on myself and it made the scars wider some of them got better but I actually made one wayy worse! I'm wondering and hoping this regime will help those scars too!?
So guys, my next stamp session is on the 28th and I am sooo excited, been waiting very, very patiently! Have to pick up some more of the L-lysine lol I am almost out. Goodluck guys and I will keep posted as well
I've purchased all of the necessary items and I'm excited to begin the protocol.
I have a couple questions that maybe you could help with:
1. I drink shakeology, a protein mix that has a few different types of protein including whey. Will that still be ok?
2. Could I also take a zinc supplement for acne on my back? Here's the one I'll be taking: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000KI6Z7O
Thank you!
I also have another question. How do I know when my rolled areas are healed enough to roll again? Do I wait for ALL redness to subside, or just the flaking and crustiness?
Here's the reply I got from Crispy:
What I did was wait until it looked about 98% healed or so and then rolled again. After I started taking these supplements my skin started healing very rapidly, as quickly as recovering to 98% in less than a week where without it was having to wait 3-4 weeks before it looked healed up. If I were you I'd roll as soon as it looks healed to around 98% or so.

Hi, out of all the new questions that have this is the only one that hasn't already been answered. I don't know how taking zinc will affect the healing of your scars because I wasn't taking it at the time. As for the protein mix, taking whey protein is part of the protocol and is not a substitute for taking the isolated amino acids on their own. There's only one cure that I know of for acne scars and that's the exact protocol I typed out in the first post, there may be others out there but I haven't seen them.

Hey Lam, glad to hear you think you're seeing changes, hopefully the improvements will be clear after you've been rolling for a solid 2 months like it was for me. What size derma roller did you end up deciding on? Also, are there any items you have left out for any reason? Good luck

Thank you for answering. My question about the shakeology was specifically about the whey protein requirement, as I'm still taking the pill supplements you've recommended.
Why is the protein specifically WHEY protein?
Do you have any resources that you used to create this protocol that you can share with us?

It might work with egg protein, or soy protein or vegetable but I was using whey protein and so that's what I know works although it's common knowledge that whey protein is the most bio available form of protein. I didn't really use any specific resources, just my knowledge of biology and experience with supplements.

Hey Crispy, I'm still using the 1.5 mm needle dermastamp, just purely because the 2.0mm hurts like hell. The only thing I may have left out is the type 2 collagen, which I finally got delivered to me last week, took forever.
So I'm restarting the needling need, back to day 1 with all the supplements and topicals, adding a few extra topicals as well such as vit a, c, msm and dermaheal sb just to take advantage of the product penetration.
I guess if in 2 months I fail to see substatantial improvements I'll move onto the 2.0 mm or buy a 2.0 mm stamp, rollers definitely hurt way more.
My scarring isn't as bad as some of the people on this board, in fact calling them moderately might get some mean looks. My large pores are most apparent, I doubt needling will improve this but we'll see after 2 months.
I'll post my before after when I have time.
I really hope it works for you and appreciate the updates.
It's good to note that lamchopz results so far are from using the 1.5 stamp instead of the 2.0 roller and only just recently added the type II collagen to his regimen which is an important part of it (it's collagen which is what your skin is made of after all).
It sounds like you're getting quick healing times but need to be using the 2.0 roller. The pain you're describing is from you hitting deep into the dermis which you'll need to do. 1.5 may work for you and I really hope it does, but 2.0 is a different ball-game altogether; I know the pain you're talking about, I had to just go crazy for a bit and roll hard for about 8 seconds on each cheek...16 seconds total pain. There's some numbing cream you can purchase called "LIDOCAINE" aka EMLA that has also been shown to aid in scar tissue healing that you may want to look into in order to use the 2.0 roller.

Hahaha... I have been using Lidocaine...
Maybe I can go buy some heroin or cocaine...
Hello everyone,
I've been following the protocol outlined by the original poster for a few weeks now. While I have made a few changes to fit me personally, I'm derma stamping every Friday, and take my supplements daily. Please see the below stamping schedule, topicals, and supplements:
1.) 500mg Threonine
2.) 500mg Lysine
3.) BioCell Collagen Type 2
4.) BioCell Collagen Type 1 and 3
4.) Whey Protein (Green Goodness shake)
5.) Hair, Skin, and Nails Vitamin
6.) Zinc
7.) Fish Oil
1.) Super CP Serum (copper peptides)
2.) Skin Signals (copper peptides)
3.) MSM lotion
4.) Rose Hip Oil
5.) Tamanu Oil
6.) Lascal Serum
7.) Vitamin C lotion
*Copper peptides and Lascal serum from Skin Biology*
1.) 1.5 derma stamp
2.) Individual needles
*Derma stamp and needled from owndoc.com*
I took ONE L-Phenylalanine pill and almost went to the ER. I have a heart condition called WPW; this supplement nearly took me out. Please be careful and listen to your body when experimenting with new supplements. Just because you can take it, doesn't mean you should take it. Even if the supplement doesn't have a particular side effect history, it could still disagree with your physiology.
I've tried using TriReduction Cream, Super Cop, and Super Cop X2. This caused contact dermatitis wherever I applied the above mentioned topicals. I've used Super CP Serum and Skin Signals without issue. Again, listen to your body.
On 2.28.2014, I stamped for the first time, only concentrating on two scars on my right cheek. and three on my left cheek. I stamped for the second time on 3.4.2014. I also stamped last night, 3.14.2014. Please see the attached/below pictures, one taken before I started stamping, the other after two derma stamping sessions. I feel I have good results, despite the limited amount of treatment time.
All redness and micro swelling resolves within four to five days. I roll every 7th day.
Right cheek:
Left cheek:
*The uppermost scar on this cheek does not show as much improvement, as a clogged pore under my skin is hanging out on the edge of said scar. I'm having this extracted on Monday, 03.17.2014. I'll be able to stamp it better after this issue is resolved.
Within ten minutes of stamping, I apply both copper peptide products, followed by Rose Hip and Tamanu oil, and MSM lotion. I follow this topical protocol, morning and evening, for the first three to four days after stamping. I then use the copper peptide products every morning, and the Lascal serum every night. I only use the vitamin C serum at night - not with the copper peptides.
I hope this post and pictures are informative and helpful. Kudos to the original poster for creating this protocol. I'll post updated pictures after a few more stamping sessions.
Good luck, everyone!
I don't understand how you take your amino acids and whey protein separately from each other. How long do you have to wait? 3x a day is a lot, are you supposed to spread out 7 pills and the whey throughout the day, taking them every hour or two? But that would prevent you from taking them on an empty stomach. So do we wait 30 minutes? How does this work?

congratulation , i see noticeable results , but needling/stamping every week is so much , your skin need time to heal itsealf , i think needling every 4 or 6 weeks is better !!
I'm curious to know if the OP has taken a break of 4-6 months from needling, and whether the scars resurfaced & returned to normal. I'd also like to see photos.
It's not possible for skin to fully heal or for the dermal collagen remodeling phase to even begin at one week. What you see on the surface does not reflect what's happening under your skin or at the molecular level. As a result, you can cause more damage than good by needling with 1.0-2.0 mm roller/stamp every 1-3 weeks. I understand the desire to improve your skin quickly and also what it is like to be amazed with results when your skin is still swollen and in the stage of repair. However, you have to be realistic too. If you want to obtain permanent,long-term improvement without risking damage, then it's best to take it slow and allow new collagen to form before attacking your skin again. I just get concerned when I see threads like this because people reading it are going to try it at home and some are going to end up causing long-term damage, following the advice of anonymous people on the Internet.
I agree with *Inspired*... when I started needling, I rolled with a 1.5, once a week, for 2 months. It wasn't until I really began reading into how wound healing works, which is essentially what we are doing, that I realzied it is wayyy better to wait ATLEAST a minimum of 4 weeks!
I highly suggest anyone following any type of protocol, may it be needling or any other form of wounding the skin for inducing collagen production, to read up on wound healing and all the different phases (hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation and remodeling). If you are needling every single week you may be interrupting some of these very, very important phases.
For example, in the proliferation phase, fibroblasts secrete collagen "on which further dermal regeneration occurs", this begins around day 4 and lasts upto 21 days!!! Now say if you needled every 7 days, you are only allowing proliferation to occur for about 3 days before throwing your skin back into phases 1&2 (hemostasis + inflammation) therefore, you are not allowing your skin the time it needs to give you the best possible results. Now there is a chance, when needling weekly, that your skin may still complete the proliferation phase and will continue through to the 4th phase, remodeling; however, it will still be thrown back into phase 1&2 every 7 days, so all these phases won't be carried out smoothly because they are being interrupted and overlapping. Atleast, that's my understanding based on the research i've read.
I now dermastamp every 4 weeks and am taking some amino acids (proline&lysine), whey protein, in addition to some vitamins/supplements (vitamin c, zinc and msm) along with using super cop x2 & msm post roll, topically. So i'm not following OP's protocoll to a T, but it's because of OP I realized the role/importance of amino acids in collagen production- thanks OP!!
Remember folks, good things come to those who wait
Bye for now friends!

Well said!
Just because your skin looks healed on the surface after a few days, does not mean that it is done healing down below.

Hi Pineapple, do you have any of the links you previously read on wound healing process?
I read up on it a lot last year so unfortunately I do not have any links saved but there are tons out there if you just google "wound healing phases/stages" here's a couple of links that I just looked up:
http://www.curad.com/firstaid/stages.asp
http://www.woundandhyperbaric.org/physicians/physiology.php
http://www.dmmedical.net/howwoundsheal.htm
And I know some people doubt the credibility of Wikipedia however, this link provides an enormous amount of detailed information as well:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wound_healing
If you are interested in a particular phase, you can always just google away and find more information pertaining to that particular stage in wound healing.
Hope this helps!
