Was talking to my doctor about new treatments for acne scarring and he brought up Fractora, so thought I would make a thread as it looks interesting. It's basically microneedling/ematrix but with actual ablation of tissue vs just heating it up/needling.
Fractora delivers bipolar RF energy to the skin through an array of pin electrodes with an ablation zone that can vary from 100 microns up to 1 mm. RF current flows between the pins creating zones of ablation, coagulation and heating. The gentle heating of sub-dermal tissue promotes collagen restructuring for a deep treatment effect. The untreated skin around the ablation zones promotes fast healing of the micro-lesions to minimize patient down time.
"Clinical:
Histological studies show that skin ablation can reach a depth of 1mm with a coagulation zone of up to 100 microns around the crater.
Maximum Output Energy 62 mJ/pin

If anyone has anymore info - feel free to post.
It's a form of RF needling. It ablates much deeper than the other ones however (like ematrix). Oddly enough, it's made by the same company who makes airgent.
what about intracel? i swear this and intracel are the exact same thing. im so desperate i might actually try fractora out since they offer it in my city. since its fairly new i am kinda worried of side effects n what not
ive been interested in this as well. before getting enrjet done this type of method was my other option i wanted. im alittle bit confused because fractora seems to be a rip off of intracel which is another RF needling procedure. intracel originated in korea so you know its the real deal. in plan to go to a consult soon for this type of method.
I had 3 rounds of fractora done in between my fraxel repairs (first one was in December 2012). I waited about 6 months after my first repair, did 3 rounds of fractora spaced 2 months apart, then had my second repair a couple months after my last fractora. I maybe saw about 20% improvement, or maybe less? It's hard to say because maybe it helped enhance my improvements from the repair, and maybe it isn't so effective on it's own. Downtime was nothing. I would go in on a Thursday and be ready to go back to work on Monday (I was a little pink but no big deal). I don't know what settings I had it done on. But because of the limited downtime, you probably shouldn't expect amazing results. Small incremental results is more reasonable to expect.
