it's like seriously hurting so much to look at myself -__- i have less active acne now but i'm still breaking out here and there and EVERYTHING leaves redness/hyperpigmentation or dark spots
even if i leave it alone it still leaves some type of spot, i'm currently putting fresh aloe vera gel on my entire face every night which has helped a little bit, but i'm so depressed. Not sure what I should do, currently supplementing with zinc/magnesium/vitamin D as well
please recommend me a course of action, I feel like it'll take years to heal this up =/
edit: i should of said said this right away, this picture was taken within 10 minutes after getting out of the shower/putting aloe vera gel on
so yeah my skin is even redder than normal, that good ol post shower redness -___-
I think you need accutane. Ur acne looks severe
you think so ?
i thought about it but i don't really have too many actives currently maybe about 6-7 total on my entire face
all of that is red spots left behind from healing acne =/
i took a course back in 2011, acne flared back up in 2012, sucks so much
it doesnt look severe.
dont jump on accutane before u're sure u've tried everything.
u can start by concentrating on diet, lifestyle and some topicals.
also change some habits u have now.
find out an apt diet for YOU.eliminate and figure things out.
i know people here who are intolerant one thing which are healthy in general but not for them!
what is ur diet and lifestyle like?
dairy?wheat/gluten?rice?
sleep?stress/exercise?
start taking cinnamon after meals (helpd with insulin spikes).whats ur skincare routine?what do u use other than aloe vera gel?
i suggest a low% bha wash.1% to start with.
u can use clindamycin phosphate + nicotinamide gel(or adapalene in it).
u can also use bp for spot treatment.but it is harsh for many so u gotta be careful.

diet is brown rice, lots of chicken/beef
lifestyle is work 6 days a week / gym 5 days a week
no dairy / brown rice yes / gluten yes
sleep 7-8 hours a night
only stress about skin occassionally (like tonight)
Only washing with a mild face wash at night / aloe vera gel everynight
in the mornings wash with water in the shower / apply lotion
like i said my problem is the redness my cheeks and forehead are actually fairly smooth, it's just the redness/dark spots are taking FOREVER to fade
I have the same problem with spots leaving hyperpigmentation that just won't fade. I've been using Emu Oil for 6 weeks now and I have seen an amazing difference in my red marks- it's helped so much.
If I were you, I'd try Emu Oil. It makes you skin feel greasy put if you can put up with it, it's worth it because it helps so much. You can use it just at night if the greasiness bothers you, but I use it in the morning and the evening.
Just make sure it's 100% pure Australian Emu oil that you buy.
Hope this helps?
is ur problem acne or is that more or less clear?
are u ONLY worried about hyperpigmentation?
*gym(specially weight lifting) cause acne in many men.check that out here.u will see some posts on that.
*check for gluten.
*brown rice shouldnt do u bad.but still check for insulin spikes.
do u take those protein shakes or whatever they call it?
wash ur face twice a day.before u go to bed and after u wake up.with a wash.
is ur skin oily?
if aloe vera is helping u then u can continue.
see what suits YOU.

my skin actually improved from going to the gym (used to have ALOT of active acne) haha but i do hear what you're saying alot as well
no i dont use any supplements
yes i do wash twice a day, water in mornings / gentle salycilic acid wash at night
aloe vera has been helping but not as quick as i'd like =[
skin used to be very oily but oil production has somewhat slowed down with aloe vera use
Have you tried the regimen. I am on it and i have seen some improvement 3 weeks in. Many people with worse acne have also cleared. I think your diet is pretty decent. The only other recommendations i could offer is to cut out all dairy and gluten for 3 months to see if it helps and start juicing/blending veggies
I've suffered acne since I was 10. I'm now 25 and clear from acne. I break out every now and then. I've gone to the dermatologist where they would heal my acne with antibiotics. After a few months, it would come back because I've become resistant to the medication. I healed my acne using natural methods, I've tried every natural mask out there. A few other treatments I really regret doing(urine theraphy..yuck). I've been on Acne.org and other forums but never once posted anything because I just liked taking in information and it wasn't like one product/advice worked magically. I have rolling scars and hype pigmentation that I'm trying to get rid off. I'm doing co2 fractional laser treatments spaced about 3 mos+
I find that washing with just luke warm water and doing a cold rinse after helps. I've found that tomato (sliced and spread on the face) 2x a week greatly controls my acne. It was yogurt+turmeric that cured me. But this took months. I have a friend that used to break out so much and I've been noticing his skin becoming clearer. I think he's taking glutathione and his acne marks are fading really well. I'm gonna give it a try because IDK WHAT IT IS BUT MY MARKS ARE STILL THERE AND IT'S KILLING MEEEEEE. I'm a girl so i have a lot more insecurities.hehe.
I will tell you how it goes with the product that I will be using. In the mean time, use plain yogurt +turmeric. Keep it on till it dries. If you want pictures of my friend I can email them to you

I have the same marks and acne as you. Im 16 and asian (tan skin). Like you every pimple from smallest to biggest leves a dark brown mark that takes just forever to go away. Currently i am using papaya and kojic acid soap. I also use salycylic acid at night. My redmarks is fading (i think...) but slowly. It's gonna be hard for us asians. Anyways good luck.
let me be honest with yu ok
yur acne is NOT BAD
I hate when my family or sisters or friends say that to me but looking at this photo yur acne isn't bad
go and see yur docta tell him/her to put yur on antibiotics and a topical cream
Accutane isn't a good thing and yu don't even need it
PLUS don't touch yur
aw and wash yur face with cold water rather than warm my face tend to go red when I was with warm water so I jst wash with cold water
yu kno yu should try oats mask I swear its soo soothing on the skin and it takes marks really fast even deep scars if yu use it every day for six weeks yu will be scars/mars free
yu jst need to take some oats mixs with one spoon of honey and a bit of water mix it well and put it all over yur face wait for 15-20 minutes
my skin gets irritated sooo fast I affoid everything but this mask is wonderful
yu can also use it as a face wash at night and in the morning jst take some oats mix it with a bit of water and rub it on yur skin gently then wash it off
try and see how it goes
Avoid hot or cold water. Lukewarm is the way to go in the shower or in the sink.
Consider what I do. Manuka honey masks a few times a week, whenever I feel like, to help alleviate redness and help scars.
Morning/night, I wash with a mixture of pure jojoba oil mixed with lavender essential oil and gently massage my skin.
REMEMBER, stop picking if you haven't done so already, I learned.
I'm in the same boat as you my man. I have little acne, but a ton of hyperpigmentation. Eat healthy, drink enough water, and stay positive. You'd
be surprised what the human mind and body can do.

I agree that Accutane is not a good idea. There are lots of people suffering due to it for years and still are. Are you sure about the oats thing? cause my marks are really dark. I will try that. But will the oats hurt my cysts?
am 100% sure just don't put it on where yu got the spot or it might hurt white for it the cysts to dry up and wen yu think its healing and its leaving a mark put yur oats mask on yu try ir dear yu will see wat I mean and let me kno how it goes yah
I'll try to do it every morning or night. Ill update when i see results
here if yu wanna see how the mask is made I found a video for yu
if yu want to try other masks yu can try this too
I already tried the one with the apple cider, green tea, and honey. Tbh i didn't notice much difference but maybe it's because i was still getting acne plus I didnt want to look at the mirror too long.
