I stupidly tried to get rid of acne and now I have this red spot on my face. I have had for three weeks now. It has gone down gradually but is there something more that I can do for it? I feel like this is all people are staring at even though I know it is only a small spot and people most likely are not seeing it.

A thick creme moisturizer will help bring down the redness. The redness means it is in the healing process.

dont irritate it any further.

thick creme?

am not sure that would be a very good idea for acne-prone skin but to sooth it a light aloe gel or something would be fine.

am not sure though!

What kind of thick creme? At this point I don't care if more acne emerges this spot is making me more self conscious than thinking people are staring at my acne. I have learned my lesson I am never going to scrub again. I just want this spot to disapear.

I would suggest a hydrocoritsone ointment or cream

I am putting hydrocoritsone ointment on it. But I have another question. Should this spot still be burning me? I mean this is about a month old now. I would have thought that the burning sensation should have ended by now. I went to the doctor too and asked about it and she told it me that it was just acne even though I told her it wasn't because I was the one who scrubbed my skin in order to get rid of the acne. So I am really at a loss of what to do. I wish I could go back and have never done this to my face.

Do you see a dermatologist? If so they'd be able to tell the difference between a burn or acne or skin sensitivy. Also they would be able to set you up with the correct cream.

No I don't see a derm. I don't have insurance right now so I can't afford one. I put diaper rash cream on it last night and it seemed to help some. I guess I will just have to put up with it for now. Thank you for the help.

I hear ya there with the no insurance thing, I wouldn't be visiting my dermatologist if I was uninsured either. I hope it goes away soon!! Best of luck!
