Why Did Aloe Vera Make My Skin Worse?

So, i had this patch of skin just under and around the corner of my mouth. It was angry and red, but with a week or so of hard graft i had it faded to a light brown. Bearable enough but I still endeavoured to try and get it a normal skin colour like on the other side.

So I decided to buy an aloe vera plant and apply the gel to help sooth the skin further, as it's a pretty well known fact aloe is liquid gold for the skin...right?

Well I put some on after a shower this morning, and literally after 3 hours it had turned in a red patch again that looked angry and almost felt like it was burning.

Can any shed any light at all as to why my skin has reacted like this to aloe vera?? It was pure from the plant, so it can't be to do with any chemicals or anything?

Why do you believe ,its bad for something to turn red?

Isnt that an indication that blood flows to the damaged area, doing its job?

Just let the nature now to do the healing process.

But if i wanted it to be red and do the 'healing process' I wouldn't have applied it. It made it worse, no two ways about it.

If tomorrow morning it's like it was before I applied it then I'll agree with you.

But the reaction was not normal. This has happened all so often to me to know when I'm reacting badly, and when something is healing...
