Hello, I've been using prescribed medicine for my acne for over a year now (Differin 0.3, Sulfameth/Trimethoprim, and Benzaclin) I use Differin and the sulfameth every day, but I cannot use the benzaclin everyday as it irritates my skin too much and causes more redness. I use it only on new pimples that break out. I do not break out very often, but I do have marks, scars and redness all over. This is the part that bothers me very, very much. I do not think my skin has always been like this. The reason may be that this summer, for three-four months I was outside for many hours a day without sunscreen I noticed my face starting to get very red, sunburned. It didn't go away and it still hasn't. What do I do? I don't know if this is from sun damage or just the acne or maybe a combination. Should I tell my Derm?
i been using 70spf sunscreen because i used retin a for the last couple months with great improvement ...anyway i went back to work last week i run heavy equip and i get ALOT of sun ...my face has gotten red and peeled like crazy since i've gone back to work ...i been applying sunscreen 2 or 3 times a day but i can't completly block it ....skin is reddish and puffy but looks good honestly other then irritation
wear high spf suncreen.make sure it's got zinc oxide(not titanium)
and mine has both chemical and physical barrier.
my derma suggested me 'melagard 50+'.
make sure it's not comedogenc,sticky/greasy or harsh/drying.
since we have acne-prone skin.
also, please stay out of sun as much as u can.atleast for long periods.
wearing hat or protective clothes help..but hat makes ppl sweat so be careful abt ur forehead being dirty etc.
and always if any doubt consult derma, since u have a choice.
be as frank to her/him as u can.
=)
