hi i have been floating around the forums for a few months been researching the beat treatments for my acne scarring, i have a combination of rolling and ice pick scarring on my temples and cheeks. i am indian with darker skin so have to be careful with laser treatments.

i went for a consultation with dr khan from harley street skin clinic. he is a nice guy he took a look at my scarring and recomended a combination of subcision, fat transfer and then a fractora laser treatment. he said the subcision would work but the scarring will stil have indentations so would be best used in combination with fat transfer to fill the gap between the tissue and skin makes sense he would get fat from my stomach or love handles and insert it into my face should have asked if it was the whole cheek area or individual scars will find out . we talked about fillers but as i researched fillers are temporary. but i made sure to ask him if fat transfers are temporary or permenant his response was disappointing he said we cant be sure how long the fat will last maybe a year 7 years or a lifetime. and then we spoke about the fractora laser he said it would be best for my darker skin as it doesnt effect the pigment the effect would be to tighten the skin and rejuvenate it. i asked in % what kind of improvement he would expect couldnt give a answer. fair enough. if he said 80% and there wasnt then i wouldnt be happy.

so onto the cost

subcision 600 for cheeks and temples (one treatment)

fat transfer 1800 (one treatment)

fractora laser 900 (one treatment)

so 3400 for everything the price wouldnt be a problem if the fat transfers were perm but seeing as they may last just as long as fillers its abit worrying to pay 1800 for temp results

ive decided to get subcision, silicon or juvederm fillers followed by pixel laser.

i have found a place that does the subcision and fillers for 800

and a place that offers pixel laser that specialise in darker black and asian skin for 1200 for 3 treatments

i decided on fillers instead of fat transfers mainly because of the fact fat transfers cannot gaurentee perm results so will see what kind of results i get from fillers if they are good and they last a while i will be pleased with that.

ive been worry far too long about scarring avoiding certain seats in restaurants because of lighting. thinking everyone is looking at my scars when out its time to get rid of these and its all thanks to this webisite and people posting. i have my procedures booked in for april i will post some before pics scarring is mainly on my temples and upper cheeks.
