Hi everyone! I'm 25 and I've been struggling acne from 21. I have genetic oily skin, but it's almost always dry/dehydrated, too. I've tried birthcontrol pills, antibiotics, bp (been using proactiv lately), aha, retin a and most of them have helped for a while. Right now my acne is mild, mostly during that time of the month and from heat/sweat. However, I still have a lot of brown and red marks, a few scars, some of them very old, since no one ever told me I should use sunscreen, I tried to get rid of acne by tanning for years.

Anyway, my last dermatologist was great, and she said the only thing she can do for my pih is microdermabrasion. So now I ' m at my 3rd session, gonna do 6, but I 'm soooo afraid it doesn't seem to work, maybe I over examine every spot, idk. Some spots seem worse after the microderm, then they cal, down in a few days. Also, my aesthetician suggested a mandelic peel and a melaspeel peel when I finish the microderm. Do you guys think it will work? how bad do you think it looks? I started using retin a again and dropped the proactiv cause I read here it worsens the spots.post-204487-0-18603600-1363026239_thumb.post-204487-0-53322700-1363026256_thumb.

P.s. I suffer of chronic depression, big part of it is my face, I hate looking in the mirror, mostly because I feel I'm already 25 and this is not over, I know there are people who have it much worse, but it sucks causewhen it's moderate, no one seems to care about helping you (doctors, etc)

i would love to have your skin personally

but i do understand how annoying any spot can be.

try using honey masks (leave on 1-2 hours)

and apple cider vinegar as a toner (dilluted 1:1)

both have been working so well for my acne marks

i also "moisturize" with aloe vera before bed.

i find that the best way to heal marks is 1. exfoliation (in my case the toner). 2. moisture. 3. sun protection. and 4. consistency

good luck to you :)

My situation is similar to yours. I am mainly dealing with my post acne marks on my cheeks. I met with my dermatologist and she suggested sublative rejuvenation which is a type of skin resurfacing.
