Hello everyone,
I have been using Dan's 2.5% BP, followed by St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer and finally by Neutrogena Ultra Sheer 30 SPF sunblock for about 1.5 years now. Also, I use St. Ives apricot face wash every morning. I rarely get whiteheads anymore, except for the occasional two every month or so. However, I have had these red/purple marks and bumps underneath my skin since the time I have started my regime. They would not go away. There were a few times where when I woke up, these marks were almost all gone, with smooth skin texture. Unfortunately, a few hours later, the marks would return to their normal state. I have read that it can take up to 18 months for these marks to go away, but it's been about 1.5 years and they look almost the same as they did from when I started on my treatment. Will hydroquinone work? I have provided some pics below. Thanks!
Note: in certain lighting, the marks are A LOT more visible.
They could be more "brown marks" in which case hydroquinone could help.
Or they could be indicative of vascularity (issues with veins that often occur when the skin is constantly irritated by acne), in which case it is simply the blood supply appearing as a mark. If this is the case the only thing that will help you is laser.
Thanks for the replies everyone. It really does suck to have these marks that will not go away. I still can't believe how just 3 years ago, I had perfect skin and now my skin is horrible.
