I'm a male, in my 20s, and I guess you could say I have darker skin.
In the last year or so, I've been dealing with a pimple or two popping out every week. My skin has become extremely oily. I had been using some La Roche Posay products to no avail, so I came back to the BP routine that I had used in my teenage years.
Now I have been having an issue with my skin during this year, and I was hoping someone could help me here, point me in the right direction. If this isn't in the right forum, please let me know.
When I pop a pimple (I know, I know. Shouldn't do it. But I can't resist), I usually get a red bruise around the pimple. This bruise spreads around the area. Over time, it dries off and I could almost flake it off. I'm wondering if this is a sign of a health issue? Is it normal to have such bruising? It concerns me that the smallest amount of pressure on my skin creates such a big bruise. It is almost as if the top layer of my skin just peels right off. I would understand if the area where the pimple was bruised, but it is the area around the pimple.
I would appreciate any insight into this, if anyone has experienced it or has heard anything about it.
Thanks.
I think I know what you're talking about. This happens when you squeeze the natural oil from your skin as you pop the pimple. The skin around the area dries out and is damaged because it's missing the oil layer. This probably means you're popping it too aggressively! Hope this helped
