I don't think most depressed acne scars have "scar tissue", they just suffer from a loss of tissue or are being bound down, but still have "normal" skin on the top surface, with pores.. But I haven't actually looked into this, so I'm not sure if I'm right. Actual scar tissue is fibrous tissue that doesn't really look like skin so much, it doesn't have pigment or pores. It's red or white in colour, and more often hypertrophic than hypotrophic. You get scar tissue in severe enough wounds and after surgery.
