So I've been lurking for awhile now- still on 60 mg of accutane currently, mainly for large cysts that developed on my chin and forehead. I had this one large sucker on my chin back in September, and my dermatologist recommended a cortisone shot. It disappeared within a few days, but then became a large dent (1st pic). He injected it with saline and it plumped nicely but dented in again in a few days. I decided to leave it, but it became a huge cyst again about a month and a half later and leaked on its own. Its now been a couple months and looks like it's indenting a tad (2nd pic, 3rd pic).
Does anyone have any experience with a scar like this? I'm wondering if it looks like a rolling scar now, or possibly still cortisone , and if there is anything else I can do for it.
Thanks
Lol one small dent, especially on the chin, doesn't mean you're battle-scarred. If we knew each other in real life, that's a scar I wouldn't have noticed unless you pointed it out or I examined your face. I hope you find something that works for you since it bothers you, but either way, the scar is fine, most people have a small scar or dent or pockmark on their face. Based on the pics, if you didn't say it was a scar, I would have thought it was a dimple.
You may be a good candidate for subscision + a good Hyaluronic filler like Restylane. Subscision will help to untether the scar so it can raise to the level of the surrounding skin more easily and the filler will help to both keep it there while it fully heals and, since HA is naturally found in our bodies and is essential for collagen production, you will reap the benefits of long term remodelling after the filler has fully absorbed.
