matt i have some like razor bumps around my jaw that are being tough to get rid of so far with the retin a ...would u recommend tazorac ? isn't it stronger then retin a 0.1 ....btw people who want smaller pores use retin a ...my strawberry nose is getting better and better using it
Rob I would def. continue using Vit c sreum, retin-a, and of course a good sunscreen/sun block. I have skin similar to yours...porous skin, sun damage. It will take a lot of patience and many months of continous use but eventually you will notice an improvement in skin texture/tone. However, it will never get rid of your scarring. For that, maybe for you, fillers/laser might be your best option. Not to sure though as scarring is particularly hard to treat.
i'm washing the vitamin c off about an hour after applying ...it burns too....anyway alot of people on here asking about ways to get rid of pores on nose....i use to have a worse strawberry nose then a 70yo man and its gett better ever day ....this pic is 7 months apart the one on the left is even brighter lighting u can tell by the hair color and the scars and pits look alot worse ...the retin a is improving my skin everyday ...i can't wait to get a few months into using it

Wow! What an improvement. I think that you'll be amazed that between the topical Vitamin A and Vitamin C, you'll see steady improvement over the course of time. I also apply Vitamin E oil on my face at night over the Retin-A.
Vitamins, A, C, E are what I call the complexion 'trifecta'. It's a terrific combination of antioxidants which improve the appearance of your skin.
Thanks for posting your photos, Rob!
We can all learn from one another's experiences.

i have rolled 10-12 times in about 7 months but prolly only once in the last two months ...it slowed down due to work ...i would try to roll on friday nights so i could stay out of the sun for a couple of days ...my skin would be really red because i rolled pretty hard ...my skin was tough ...but honestly the biggest difference has come from starting retin a about a week ago ...its amazing how much better it looks after removing the damaged skin ...i'll prolly have to roll alot softer now because my skin feels softer ...i also used single needles on the pits and dermastamp on the craters and then rolled the entire area ...i used 2 mm which is also the deepest u can go ...honestly i would start retin a for a lil while then roll maybe a month into it

i would deff be more careful with rolling now that your on retin-a
here is a higher res picture showing the diff in 7 months ...retin a 0.1 is a miracle worker for me everyday my face gets smoother ...its even eating away alot of the bigger pores and pits that were on my face ...i honestly don't even mind the huge craters i'll work on them with needling but removing all that sundamaged lumpy layered skin is awesome!
Rob:If you have prior sun damage, I would recommend that you consider doing a 25 percent TCA peel.Using Retin-A is a good primer for that type of peel. Both Retin-A and peels have made my skin look a lot better. You are showing some great improvement - some of the best that I've seen posted on this site.Matt
Rob:I would wait until the irritation from the Retin-A has subsided before you attempt a 25 percent TCA peel. This is a medium depth peel and it will remove a tremendous amount of visible sun damage that you might have. You'll need a good five days to recover and you'll want to stay secluded indoors out of the sun. This peel burns like crazy and your face will tighten up and wrinkle while the outer layer of your skin prepares to peel. Your skin will peel off in sheets and the underlying skin is pink and vibrant looking. Collagen deposition and remodeling starts over the next several weeks/ months.Sunscreen will need to be worn to prevent hyper pigmentation. Can't wait to see your photos in six months.Matt
yeah thats gonna be hard for me to do ...the retin a is working like a peel just slowly right matt? its basically acid eating away the old skin? i used a facial scrub today after the steam room and applied a vitamin e lotion i got at the dollar tree ...u can really see how the retin a is removing wrinkles as well ...
also ...matt next time i needle did u say to apply retin a after needling that night? i normally use lotion
also its ok to apply the vitamin e lotion then after it drys a sunscreen ?
notice around my eye the wrinkles are dissapearing the right pic was taking today after the scrub the left pic yesterday
I apply vitamin E oil at night to my face after applying Retin-A.
In the morning, I apply the Reviva Labs product following by sunscreen.
By doing so, I have antioxidants and vitamins which stimulate collagen production 24 hours a day on my face.
Yes, I apply the Retin-A to my face after rolling. It allows the medicine to penetrate much deeper into my skin.
So far, so good.
