Redness After Dermapen Treatment

Hi guys..

long time lurker first time poster.

Have some not to bad (but they bothered me) acne scars on both cheeks so after all this time (i'am 42) i decided to get something done about them.

Did consider laser.. but decided against it

After much research i decided to opt for the Dermapen

I was advised three treatments six months apart.

I had my first treatment on the 30th July.

The (cosmetic) surgeon used the pen at a 2.00mm depth and the treatment took around fifteen minutes.

Afterward my face looked as like it had two dark red "blotches"on it.

My problem?

Over seventy two hours after treatment these "blotches" are still there.

I thought i would have seen some signs of them fading by now.

I have been advised by the clinic to be patient and these will eventually fade

(I don't want to stay indoors for a whole week or so)

So my question is...

Would putting Aloe Vera cream help with the redness or do you advise against it.

Will the Aloe Vera it do more harm than good?

(it's all i have in my place right now..and i cant go out and get anything else with a face like this!)

Thanks.

i read before , that you shouldn't put any anti inflammatory, topical after treatment, cause inflammation is the part of process of Stimulate collagen, you must wait some time after treatment before put any anti inflammatory

i think you should just ask the person who did the procedure on you.

I don't think it's that black and white, inflammation is also part of the process of scarring. Use topicals that have clinical studies backing them up. I don't know about aloe vera, but you should use a moisturizer of some kind that will keep the wound moist. Search for post-laser creams.

I've had Dermapen treatments done and never had the redness last for more than a day, if that... Is it still painful? Or just unsitely?

i have also had dermapen and had redness for 5 days(including treatment day)

Depends on how deep pen goes to increase redness IMO, superficial levels will cause minimal redness
