Congratulation on your skin improvement. Your scars had a major improve for a short period of time. How much does it cost each treatment?

It was $3000 for the first, second was free, and my doctor is giving me $250 each time after.

Prices will obviously vary from doctor to doctor, but $3000 for an initial ablative laser procedure is the common price.

Anyone know of a doctor in London who does exactly this?

Yeah, everyone is different.

I have another cyst that popped up in this area again -_- What the fuck, man. I'm using my Renee Rouleau Anti-Cyst treatment and I'm hoping it'll bring this sucker down. I don't know why my skin is so uncooperative. It's so frustrating

boafriend,

How are you doing now? Has your skin settled down?

Do you recall any kind of technique your doc used during the laser treatment? I want to see if I can show my derm a better way. Your cheeks look really similar to mine. And is there an advantage of doing a subcision and laser in the same treatment like you did?

Hey TokyoGirl.

Yeah, thanks. I had the second and final round of subcision done already. I don't think Dr. Rahimi went over my original dented area though (I mean, it's hard to tell where the area was since I had fillers injected) but he did help fix up the new dents I had formed in the area.

Things are fine now and while I'm still breaking out here and there, I haven't had anything crop up in the cheekbone regions so far, so that's good. I've decided to start actually regularly using the Epiduo he prescribed to me, and I hope over time, it'll calm down cysts that I get.

Dr. Rahimi really recommened that I give Accutane a shot, but I'm not really down for something that is so risky and controversial.

But yeah, thanks everyone who has helped me and given me words of encouragement. I'm bummed because obviously, the fillers I have had injected will fade over time, and I will see these dents again...the only thing I have hope on is that I had subscision done (although it was only once in each of those areas). I'm taking collagen supplements hardcore every day, so I'm hoping that will help.

Glad to hear your skin has settled down and you're doing better. It sounds like you're in good hands with Dr. Rahimi. I hope you receive good permanent improvement from subcision. Good luck with healing! Please keep us updated on your final outcome. :)

Dragz, any chance of getting an update or photos? We have similar scarring and I am trying to plan out my course of action. I have spoken to Dr. Rahimi and have been put on Minocycline in preparation for the subcicion/mixto treatment.

I have no idea, to be honest. I know he kept changing settings during the procedure, like when he moved onto a different area he paused to change settings on the machine, but I don't specifically know what they were, and each time I was too drowsy from sedatives to be cognizant enough to ask. I doubt he remembers, because he probably did it depending on what I needed at the time.

I could give you photos, but I have moved to a different apartment with different lighting in the bathroom. There's no way I could imitate the same photos and give an accurate comparison to the old photos unless I drove around 2 hours back to my old house to do it.

I could still just give you the photos if you wanted, but they would not be accurate as a comparison is all.

Thanks DRaGZ. I'm so frustrated with finding a doctor to treat my scars. I'm thinking about giving up at this point. When I look at your photos on Dr. Rahimi's page, I see more detail, and can clearly see your smaller ice pick & shallow boxcar/pock scars. You only have a few of them. I have a ton on both cheeks. I don't see much, if any, improvement to those particular scars in Rahimi's before and after photos. I can't see the smaller scars at all in your pictures. Did you notice any improvement to these scars? I imagine he focused on smoothing your rolling scars. I'm wondering if MixTo is powerful enough with enough density & depth to effectively treat smaller pitted scars. Any opinion on this?

That would be really awesome thanks. I do not mind if they are in different lighting results are results. I am trying to gauge how many treatments and at what strength I may need to plan for time off/downtime accordingly.

Does anyone know if Mixto would help my scarred pores at all? I've only heard that Fraxel Re:pair does anything for pores.

I hate to be a pessimist, but thank you TokyoGirl for asking those questions of DRaGZ.

DRaGZ your scars seemed very minimal in Rahimi's photos and what few icepicks and boxcar scars I can see in your photos seem to have very little improvement. Your rolling scars, though, had awesome improvement. It's just seeing that even your minimal icepick/boxcar scarring get little improvement is very discouraging.

1. I had almost no rolling scars.

2. I had a moderate amount of icepick scars.

3. I had lots of boxcar scars.

I am honestly not sure how you'd think my boxcar scars would have had little improvement, they are the primary thing that improved as far as I am concerned.

Okay. I'm thoroughly confused. Earlier in the thread, we had this exchange:

Hey DRaGZ,

How much improvement have you seen to date to deep, ice pick scars following your Mixto treatment?

Thanks

I did not really have any icepick scars, just boxcar and rolling, so I can't really comment on that, sorry.

Your latest post kind of contradicts what you said earlier. I see a few ice pick scars in your photos, and don't really see much improvement to those. What's your feeling on it now?

I see a few boxcar scars but mainly rolling scars in Dr. Rahimi's photos. You've had great improvement to your rolling scars. Perhaps, I'm just confused by what I'm looking at.

Obviously, my concern is personal. I'm just not sure I'll get improvement to shallow ice pick/boxcar scars with MixTo or any procedure/laser for that matter. I'm wondering if it's really possible to improve and smooth shallow, narrow scarring, that's all. I don't think you can really "shave down" the edges of smaller scars, but I could be wrong. Even then, I'm wondering if Mixto ablates deep enough to cause enough damage for collagen remodeling that results in plumping up of smaller indents. I hope I'm making sense. I can see where you got the improvement from subcision on wider scars, but I'm actually looking at your smaller scars. I honestly don't see any change to them when looking at Dr. Rahimi's photos. Have they improved since the photos were taken? Do you know which scars I'm referring to?

I've looked at the pictures now too, and I can see where you're coming from, TokyoGirl. DraGZ has maybe one small boxcar with sharp edges on his lower right medial cheek (which is just the type of scarring I mostly have), and that doesn't seem to have improved as much. I think it has become slightly shallower, but still, if you had mainly this type of scarring, judging by these pictures alone I would say you'd need at least 2-3 similar treatments to get noticeable improvement. :/

Can you see what we're talking about, DraGZ? You can judge your improvement much better than us, and assess whether your treatment has improved the kind of scars TokyoGirl (and I) are mostly concerned about.

Thanks, Austra. That's exactly the type of scarring I'm referring to. I have more than 20 similar scars on my right cheek. Mine are much shallower since Deep FX but the edges are still sharp. They really both me because I have so many of them on one cheek. I have wider, boxcar scars on my other cheek. Based on the photos, I don't see much improvement to those particular scars on DRaGZ, but perhaps, there's been improvement since the photos were taken. DRaGZ, have you seen improvement to those particular type of scars?

TokyoGirl and Austra stated what I meant much more clearly. I did not mean to be offensive, I apologize.

I, too, have the same kind of scarring they are talking about and also wonder about the sharp edges of small scars like TokyoGirl said.

As I said before, the edges are smoother and the indents are overall shallower, but the shapes haven't changed.

Okay, so as requested many moons ago, I'm posting new pictures that are not good for comparison to old pictures at all, but whatever.

I did this at the end of a very long day, and the light is kind of soft because it's my monitor and I don't really have any hard lights in my room, but whatever, I'm too tired to deal.

A bit hard to tell, but there's actually been a bit of improvement since my last update. I think one more intense Mixto session should get it to where I want it.

i've been lurking this thread for a while. appreciate the follow ups and documenting your results. it's unbelievably hard finding real scar treatment stories that are backed by pictures like yours is.

i just want to know how much % improvement you think you've had overall compared to pre-treatment. or perhaps more importantly, how much peace of mind did the procedure give you for your scars? thanks

I'd say, in totality, my left side is like 80% better, my right is like 70%. I also think about them a lot less than I used to.

Just to let you guys know, I underwent another round of Mixto/subcision two days ago on the 18th. It looks pretty much the same as before, so I won't bother wasting server space with pictures. Just letting you guys know.
