I been in this site around 3 years ago, but I change my username. I haved learn a lot from this site and some users. I have some scars that look alike acne scars but they aren't, my scrarring are from a laser procedure that a dr that work in a dermatology office recomended to me for a hypermentation scars. So I had the procedure done by dr, leaving me with ice pick scars but most of them are rolling scars. I already haved done a tons of treatments to improve the scars, to mentions some of them: 2 dermabration, 7 tca cross, 3 plasma portrait laser, 4 micro silikon injections and 3 dermaroller sections. The dermabration help me just a little bit for smoth the scarring but it leaved to me more aditional lines scars. I think that what helped me more was the silikon micro injections I have between 75-90% improvement and most of the scarring are level with the rest of the skin, except the lineal scarring. But now I have shiny scars in the same spot that I haved injected the silikon micro drop, this shiny scarring really bother me a lot. I know that I was so stupid when I dint have anything in my face before going to that clinic and have the laser procedure that leave me scarring I only was worry about hypermentation scarring that they just fade away with hidroquinone and time. I was a model and I was trying to look better and I went to that dermatology clinic for get worst than at the beginning. But I just trusted her that she was a dermatology but she isnt and I figured late, she only work in a dermatology clinic and she did to me a malpractice.
I need an advice for those shiny scars and if the re-cell will be the best option for me.
If somebody have the same experience (shiny scars) with silikon micro injections or know wich treatment is good for get rid from shiny please let me know.
I will appreciate it.
Hey Congrats again Ernestoria,i have a question about repair.Does the laser permanently repair the skin? i talked to a doctor and he said that later in life scars reappear due to aging etc.But i don't think they will come back as skin repairs itself to its original smooth state.I'm confused, you are taking a layer of skin off and its repairing itself with NEW skin right?? maybe he has it wrong, so please fill me in on what they told you.
You are repairing the skin both way, inside out by regenerating collagen and also by taking a layer of skin off from the top. Results are permanent, but maybe 20-30 years later when your normal and expected ageing process starts, then probably skin will wrinkle easier in the spot were deep scar existed. But hey, we would be very old by then! LOL

Are you planning to do dermarolling after the healing period combined with recell?
I had a couple of Fraxel Restore treatments and subcisions and good results so far. Recell seems to be very important in the healing process. That's why I am considering doing it in combination with dermarolling.
Any pic updates? I want to see how your scarring looks. Usually, fo some stange reason, after a couple months all the scarring comes back for me after invasive procedures. This happens to alot of other people on here too and it really is a kick in the stomach. I want to see your pics in a couple months again, please! Good luck.
Wel i am 17,still studying and have recently seeked scar treatment(acne) from an aesthetics doc in my country.i did some research before i went and knew that i wanted to seek for derma roller treatment.After the consultation,i explained to her that i dont really envy the scars on my face one bit.She told me to do a combination of treatments which was- Derma roller(5 sessions) and Chemical peel(5 sessions).
In the sense of chemical peel,she would apply PCA(salicylic aid) on my face and TCA on the small pimples that i have.
The cost was $3000 in my country -(US$2000)-pls do note that i am still studying and worked part time to pay.
Well,she told me that the treatment type will alternate and will be done every 2 weeks.
EG: chem peel----2wks-----d.roller-----2wks-----chem peel----and so on.
After my first peel session,i did not see much of a diff after 7 days where she told me that the peeling process would be completed.Only a few pimples popping out.
TWo weeks later-2days ago,i went for my first D.roller session.she used a 2mm needle and after numbing cream,i did feel she rolled more aggressively on my left cheek,now i have kinda like scratch marks(light ones) on my left cheek-though i see it getting fainter,i m still worried that i might not go away.ON the other hand where most of my scars are on the right cheek,i did not see any improvement (yet).
However the funny thing is i have heard that the redness will prolong till the 3rd day and so on.
For me on the contary,i bled like profusely whe rolling but the redness completely went away after 20 hrs.(completely!)
Well basically,i am writing to share my experience and will definitely keep you updated.
But i would also like to ask those who have rather respectable knowledge on these treatments if this combination of treatment i a doing(peel and d.roller) would work on my face 17 year old or is it a good combination and should not see a problem.
I just cant stop panicking because i have isolated myself from everyone i knew (other than my parents) because of my scars for a year already even though i m 17,and channeled my anger on my studies so that at least i could be a good student.

I've also recently had both Fraxel Repair and Recell done by Dr Khan though I had them done 17 days apart.
I originally had some patches of my face treated with a CO2 ablative laser 5 years ago but that only partially helped with the scarring and also left the treated areas hypopigmented. My scarring was originally quite minor (though it bothered me) so I was quite upset that I got new scars (hypopigmentation) by trying to treat old ones. I saw the doctor who carried out the treatment a few times over the next few years and he said he thought the pale areas would darken naturally but they didn't.
Last year I found out about Dr Khan through reading this website and decided to see him. He recommended trying either Fraxel or stem cell treatments to eliminate the scarring and also using Recell to get the pigmentation back into my face. I chose the Fraxel as it's cheaper than the stem cells. He said the Fraxel may help with the hypopigmentation but using the Recell as well will hopefully fully restore the colour.
I had the Fraxel done on January 2nd. I was surprised at how painful it was but it seems to have helped alot with the scarring but I'll not know the full results for a few months yet.
I was due to have the Recell done 11 days later in Birmingham (Dr Khan also treats people there as well as in London) but there was alot of snow on the roads so Dr Khan had to cancel. Instead I had it done last Tuesday in London.
First of all he took a sample of my skin from just under my ear. We then had to wait about 15 minutes or so while the trypsin broke it down. When he started to treat my face he first needled the hypopigmented areas of my face and then injected the cells into those areas. Afterwards he also sprayed the cells onto the surface of the areas before bandaging me up.
I've now taken the bandages off after the Recell. My face looks a little tanned all over so this must be due to the Fraxel (it can't be due to the Recell as there's a clear tan line under my chin where he stopped the Fraxel). The hypopigmented areas are still pale but I was expecting this. Maybe they're starting to get some pigment but I can't be sure yet. Over the next few months I hope to see the areas slowly get pigmentation and end up the same colour as the surrounding skin.
My one concern is the area where Dr Khan did the skin graft for the Recell. He explained that he would cut an area of skin about the size of a stamp, peel it open, scrape away some of the skin from the underside and then place the top layer of skin back down. When I took the bandage off it today it didn't come away very easily and bled. The bandage is a bit messy but it looks to me like the skin stuck to the bandage and has come away with it. I now have a stamp sized area of red raw skin underneath my ear. I'm worried that this is going to leave a new scar.
Ernestoria - in one of your photos I can see a pink area on the side of your neck where I assume your skin sample was taken from. Did your bandage come away easily? Did it bleed? How red was the area when you took the bandage off? BTW your photos look very good and you're very kind and helpful to have put them up. Unfortunately I don't have any photos.
In summary I'm very happy so far but it's far too early to tell the full results. Dr Khan is a very nice and intelligent guy and I'd recommend him to anyone considering treatment.

I am so happy that your recovery has gone so well! With such an invasive procedure, I think you will have the best possible outcome, whatever that is.
In my opinion, if your skin stays about how it is now within a year or so, I would say your improvement will be well over 70%.

Give us an update when you get a chance dude, this is interesting. I've had a ton of invasive procedures done myself over the last 7 years including subsicion and several ablative lasers and none of it has helped. These improvements so far for you are astonishing though. I wonder if your dr. (dr. Kahn?)'s phone is ringing off the hook?

I really wonder how you can have such dramatic results after a few weeks. The science behind the entire laser theory is that it damages the skin and new collagen will start to build. However, this new collagen production won't start untill like 6 weeks and results from this won't be seen untill 3 months.
So basically, initial results after the treatment are just from the dead skin layer that peeled off and swelling. Shouldnt the skin return to its old state after a month and then start looking better after 3 months up to a year..?
What am I missing?
It stimulates the collagen yes, but with an ablative C02 laser (like fraxel Re:Pair), the doctor can litterally sculpt the skin (burning the scar tissue). With Fraxel Re:store, the top layer isn't burned off at all, it targets specific areas deep down to stimulate collagen production over time. The way I understand it, re:pair gives the same collagen stimulating effect as a side bonus, but initially it is used to sculpt the scars (aka ablative, aka burns your fucking face off litterally lol).
I've had both ablative and non-ablative lasers done, I had fraxel re:store done 8 times, and erbium YAG laser (fully ablative partial C02 like the fraxel re:pair) done 4 times. I looked just like the guy that started this thread from his post-op pics every time I got the YAG laser done, my face was bleeding and oozing and shit for like 2 days, swollen for weeks, and black scabs all over my face etc. I had little to no results on any of my scars (though they are bad) with the fraxel re:Stores, but with the YAG lasers I had dramatic results (unfortunately they were bad results, not good, they made the scars much worse). My subcisions and punch floats also sucked ass and they made everything worse, I still have stitch marks 2-3 years later on several of the scars where the sutures broke open before they healed up.
But anyway... Yeah, the ablative lasers can cause immediate results because they have the power to level off the scars by burning them away/sculpting them, and the non ablative lasers don't do that. The non ablative lasers (such as fraxel re:store and others) are basically just deep ass microdermabrasions... even at the highest settings (which is what I had my fraxels done at), and they also "supposedly" stimulate collagen growth. Waste of money in my opinion.
But this guy that started this thread has got results like I've never seen... I didn't think it was possible for that much improvement by ANY procedure. After I had my dermabrasion, my scars looked better for like 2 to 3 months out, but they came back soon after that. It really is tricky to know when the actual swelling subsides because if you're skin is really sensitive like mine and you're still raw, when you rub your face it swells slightly every time until you heal completely.

I agree with the first part and disagree with the second. This collagen build up after three months isn't really always true. I've had multiple so called 'non-invasive' lasers that were supposed to do just that 3 months out. Of course, they did not and I ended up wasting more money.
