actually im getting pretty skeptical on it being able to remove scars. though i cant continue with it cause it causes redness to my skin, thought i'll give it a rest. i hope you guys have good results with it.
@AI3Forever:
I think the redness is a positive aspect not a negative one. How long are you using it?
I can understand why redness is bothering you. MOst of us have waited for years for the scars to become white. ANd now the shall become red again? lol
Tell us how long it takes for the scars to get to normal state. SOmebody here said it took 2 weeks for becoming white again.

Ps.: To be sceptical is a good thing. I am sceptical too. Let's hope sometime this year we will know if it works or not.

exact, nobody in this forum, has used it 1 year to say if it serves or no.
if a died weave of white scar is put red, is a good signal
not to lose the hope boys, to use iodine 1 year minimal and later to draw conclusions. patience.

IN this community they are talking about the usage of iodine for hair regrowth. They are saying that some had success with it.
While reading in the community I got the impression that everything is connected. All the guys, the hairloss fraction, the vitiligo crew and the scarred of us. We all need solutions which can be used in each case.
What about repigmentation of scars? It would be a superb thing for vitiligo too.
Hm. For me it's not clear why scar treatment is still in such a worthless condition. With the therapies available, scars should be nearly invisible. We will see.

Well here is another article for all you Derry haters.
http://jeffreydach.com/2009/11/13/iodine-a...ey-dach-md.aspx
I think people should take him more seriously
@cartweehling:
Who started six month ago? I have started 1 week ago because I had to cut down the dose.
Anyone here using it for 6 month who can answer the question if it works?
I believe it's difficult to put on iodine everyday because of the staining. The sars become red and they need time to become white again. So it first gets worser than better. I think this is the biggest problem for the user.

Good data, I wonder myself if iodine is used for cancer, perhaps serves for scar, the heavy scars are considered like tumors.
but better even if iodine works in the form of tablets as in this study were studied.
Well first off its like 5 months since this thread started. So no. And I refuse to believe that anyone here honestly did this continously for that long, we all know thats not true, and to the ones that are still doing it, we all know they probably took quite a few breaks in between anyway. This makes them unreliable test subjects, so we can't draw any conclusions from what they say. Almost everyone here started drawing conclusions one month into it, and halted the process because their scars were getting red, which doesn't make much sense since that's what's suppose to happen and if anything should be more encouraging. As for the article, its just something to add to Derry's credibility and that he is not some random doctor throwing around crazy theories about iodine.
To anyone that has read the Derry's paper on scar regeneration. You may find this interesting.
To anyone that has read the Derry's paper on scar regeneration. You may find this interesting.im only trying to convince you all since i care. im in the same situation as you and i dont want you to waste your time getting your hopes up with something that doesnt seem too successful. at the same time if your so willing to give it a go, despite the lack of results i guess i cant stop you. if i really saw any kind of results, even the smallest ones in the world, id be pouncing on this method like a wildcat.
doest it seem a bit extreme...after years of trying and countless billions of $ it appears we have found both a cure for acne scarring and cancer....it should be on tv worldwide and made into a mountain load of creams, lotions etc.
What you've just said in your last paragraph is completely fallacious. You are saying the person with the biggest megaphone to propogate their information tells the truth???
Have you heard of the terms misinformation, disinformation, lies, truth, bias? Have you looked at newspapers in how they can have a right and left slant? So following your logic, does that mean the newspaper that makes the biggest noise tells the truth?
A cancer cure may not be here but I can cite using the logic as I understand it from my position (and again do not take my propagations gospel, and dont take the next mans propagation as gospel; research for yourself) scarring is the result of the over expression of collagen on the fibrils. The collagen is over expressed by the proliferation of fiberblasts. Decorin at 200nM has completely stopped the proliferation of fiberblasts, therefor the logic here is scar free healing is past tense. Not only that but we have seen examples of scar free healing...
no matter how sceptical people get you cant deny the fact that we have an extremely credible source who says it works.i havent started applying the lugols again yet but i will start up again in the next couple of days.
anyone any updates on their treatment?
I'm giving it a go, the last time I checked I couldn't tell if there was a difference, however my thinking is, if someon says it works in a few months time, and I haven't been doing it, that is time wasted that I could have used regenerating scars so I can get the regeneration I need earlier.
@cartwheeling:
how long did you use lugols dilution? i can understand your scepticism because who wants to use lugols solution for one year not knowing if it works? i hope that derry will make a new paper soon which shows regeneration of his wrist scar so that we all get new hope.

on a completely different note, has anyone grown hair from iodine? theres been a study published in the last few weeks connecting hair to scar generation. i thought they knew this already?!
No, this was not known before. Derry was like the first to document hair's importance in regeneration through his observations with iodine, and that was like a couple of years ago. While only recently, like a week ago, has there been an article talking about hair's importance and how hair follicle's contains all the stem cells needed to make skin. This by itself should add credibility that Derry is not randomly making shit up, unless he is getting really lucky.

my thinking exactly. if it doesn't work it doesn't work, no harm done. if it does work then im already half way there.
the new discovery about hair and stem cells definitely adds to the credibility of dr derry. surely it cant just be a coincidence that derry credits regeneration to new hair growth, then a few years later it turns out hair is a major part. shows he was onto something maybe?
can somebody send to an email to Dr terry requesting new photos of the scars?
id be very interested to hear from doctor derry again. if someone could contact him it would be much appreciated.
i would do it myself but he never replied to me after my first email.
i cant decide whether or not im seeing small improvement in one of my smaller scars. sometimes i think it may be shallower but im not sure really.
4 Months? didnt you start again like a couple of weeks ago. But someone else here brought up lugols iodine. idk if you missed it but here it is.
