Well i used to get it on prescription for folliculitis, but i actually found it to be cheaper online. I don't advocate buying medication online but i don't have a problem with using topicals from the internet, it isn't the same as popping some pills which could be anything!!
I don't think i'm allowed to post the website so pm me...
Well the ebay one may be good for active acne....but for scar correction you are only gonna have the red from that unit doing any good....
The only other alternative i recommend is a baby quasar but that works out more expensive.
Unless you mean you want all three? the ebay one and a red/infra red and a yellow array from the led man?
I was thinking:
Having two ebay ones:
1. red/infra and 1. all blue and 1. small hand held yellow from led man.
My thought, correct me if I'm wrong. Was to change the LEDs on the ebay ones since the pricing was just too good to pass up for the amount.
The blue would be full from the two. The red i'll have extra and I would have to buy infra to mix in with one of the reds.
Can I just put in an infra red in or is this not possible. If it is. Wow, for around $350 I can have close to 1000 leds with every purpose besides the new less tested green.
I'm not following what you mean, you do realise you CAN'T change the leds around in these devices right? They are soldered in there, with resistors etc. It just isn't really possible without spending days doing it and damaging the electrics (and even then this would only be possible if you were experience in electronics/wiring leds).
Each different wavelength and size/type/brand of led requires different power supplies and resistors. You need a combination of series and parrallel circuits etc to make them work off of the correct power supply.
I did not realize this. Thank you. And Thank you for replying to everyone's questions over the years.
I have 3 pretty concise document files on; procedures/techniques, items/products, and board member FAQ's which is also fundamentally informative.
You do this board a great service that I cannot yet justify with words.
With this knowledge. I will get the two handsets with the LED man with all the wavelengths except blue which will be from Light Therapy. I just won't turn on the red as I hear the current consensus is to use blue and red at different times/days.
Thanks again.

No problem man i enjoy helping people. I have been accussed of having some sort of deal with the LED man going.... But if you go and take a read on other forums such as the rosacea and skin specialist forums, there are alot of people who use him and have done for a LONG time.
I just think his products are good quality, have a full garuntee do the same job as more expensive units etc etc so i have no problem in recommending him.
About the red and blue.... I know that if you run the red and blue together it actually works better than blue alone or red alone. So in terms of acne, there is no problem running the two. For collagen synthesis, inflammation etc it may be a different matter, but i don't think we will know great details of light therapy for many years yet. It is a very complex subject, all i know is that it works!!
Hey lamarr, maybe you or someone else could help me out with a few more questions I have... I'm not really sure how to apply the emla cream... i bought the 5%, not sure if thats the right one but its the only one i could find... anyway, how much do you apply? after you apply it, then you cover it with normal grocery store style saran wrap? thanks!
eric
Hi Lamarr! Thanks for all your advice and the time you take to answer everyone's questions. It is so gracious of you.
I had a question about the needles. You said in the first post that you use the BD ultra fine 31 G 5mm" but I could only find BD Ultra-fine II 30 Gauge Lancets. Are these the wrong ones?
Thanks!

Not to extend this thread any longer. It took me all day in my office to go through every post and copy paste my notes.
I myself am self-employed. I believe it is a different paradigm. I know you don't get a cut but even if you did get a cut I wouldn't care because I have done my own research and found that your recommendation was worth you earning something. People are just jealous if they aren't always in the pie.
Lamarr, I would be willing to tell the LED man how you are a power of authority through the community service you have done with the board and how many people appear to be ordering. You do deserve a nice gift or discount on any new orders. I'll let him know when I make my next purchase. The flamers should just worry about themselves then about other people.

That's the right stuff! Apply it very thickly, e.g. just splodge a loan on (this is how they do it at Dr Chus office) then wrap the saran all over the top, leave on for atleast 1 hour.

That's kind of you progress, i just don't like people making the claim that i recommend him because i have some sort of 'deal' going. He has been making these things and doing well before i ever came along so it's not like he needed me to do this anyway!!
It just really bugs me how much some companies are charging for devices like this and when i know that there is very no difference between his devices and more commercial units i don't hesitate in recommending them.
For me... I get a buzz out of reciving pm's from people telling me this method has given them better results than anything they have ever tried. We are talking fraxel, dermabrasion, fillers, ND yag, peels EVERYTHING.
That in itself is enough for me. So i will continue to push the materials and products which have helped me and so many others.
I also strongly push terproline because i believe it is a great product (people have said i must be recieving something from skinMD (haha)). Next they will be saying i recieve something for pushing the BD diabetic needles and have a deal with glaxosmithkline for pushing bactroban!
I research this technology and the dermarolling and needling methods extensively and chose each of the products i recommend for a reason, if someone finds better please post in this thread so we can all see them!
cheers,
Mark
Lamaar I had a few questions for you. First of all, I just want to say thanks for sharing this great information. It's nice to see the innovation of different techniques all combined together for the same purpose of trying to defeat acne scars. I realize that It may be very hard to ever fully bring back some of our faces. I feel I am fortunate though. I suffer from mild scaring. I am trying my best to find a solution, my problem is that. I have two rolling scars in my cheek area but they are linear shaped. They are in the cheek area around my nose and eyes. Even though I can't begin to imagine how it would be having many scars simply having these two has brought tremendous emotional pain.
The only treatment I've ever tried is TCA Cross and I'm not sure if my method is correct. I am very much open to trying this but I had to ask you a few things.
First of all, the scars I have pull my skin down and they pull some surrounding tissue as well. I believe this is a rolling scar. They don't exactly resemble your scars.
Let me briefly explain the difference. In your scars, the skin is pulled down within the scarred area. With my scars, not only are the scars pulled down, but so is some surrounding NON-scarred tissue. I don't know if this is because the scar is deeper, or if it's simply the type of scar I have. I have never seen a plastic surgeon to classify my scars and my best bet is rolling scars. One scar is also linear shaped and the other is kind of the same but wider.
Would your treatment still be effective for my type of scarring? I guess that's the only major question I have, so much for a few questions lol.
Hey lamarr,
thanks for you answer!! I have one more question maybe you can help me with...Well I decided to try and needle one of my scars to see how it reacts. I was getting eager waiting for my roller... I feel like I made my scar even worse!!! Is it normal to look bad for a certain time being while its healing? The scab is already off and its discolored, I cant tell if its deeper or if the color is just making it look worse. I did it about a week ago. Would it be ok to do a rolling session already?
Thanks!!
Eric
I'm not sure if I really needeld the right way.. I used a BD Micro Fine 31G 8mm needle and went about 4 mm in depth when needling. I didnt hear a pop, and didnt tug or anything... I just kinda glided the needle in the scar as many times as possible covering the entire scar...
Also, is it ok to use the Acne.orf regimen while dermarolling and needling? How long after a dermarolling session can i start the regimen again? Im really scarred becasue i read that benzoyl paroxide can hinder the healing process, so now i feel like i needled my scar and made it worse by continuing the regimen too early or something!! Thanks!
oh and one moe thing.. sorry... the led man said to use the yellow for 10 min and the red and infra red for 5... is this true? i thought it was the other way around...
and regarding the terproline. I ordered the terproline face cream by synchroline dermocosmetics. Is this the right one? Also, I'm worried about it breaking me me out, can it? Thanks!!
Eric
Lamarr I am not sure if you have updated the process for this procedure. So I was hoping you can look at how I have set it up. My computer at the moment is incredibly slow and takes forever for a page to upload.
1)Apply EMLA to face for about an hour than remove it and clean face with alcohol.
2)Needle deeper/larger scars, then dermaroll the whole face.
3)Apply terproline. Can I take a shower first?
Is this ok? when would I use the LED lights?
Also is there anything else I can use to clean my face after using the EMLA? I fear the alcohol may be to harsh
Hey guys i've been reading up on dermarolling and i am liking what im hearing about it. Just a few quick questions.
1. What type of scarring does it work best on. I mostly have a bunch of shallows rolling scars all over my cheeks.
2. What is the downtime. How many days after the rolling does does your face return to an acceptable level to go back out in public?
3. Are all the other treatments really necessary? I really dont have the money right now to be buying LED lights. I was thinking of just buying a dermaroller and rolling every 6-8 weeks and taking vitamin C oral supplements.
Thanks guys, im really looking forward to getting this started. I'm really just worried about walking around with a beat-red face for a couple days

It is normal for the scar to look wider when remodelling, give things several months before judging the results!!things often look worse right after. Leave it 4 weeks between sessions.
Sounds like yeah did it the right way, the acne.org regieme can irritate some peoples skin and B.P. can delay wound healing in some people, so i would leave it aslong as you can before you restart (obviously you need to avoid breakouts though).

Use the leds for 5 mins per area (red and ifnra red) and 5 mins for the ENTIRE face for the yellows. Keep them in contact with the skin and for the yellow move it across your entire face for the 5 minutes. You may need to break your face into about 4-5 areas for the red/infra red.

3) i would leave it a few hours before you do anything after dermaroller. Let the punctures close over a little. Use the LEDs as soon as you like. Wash your face with a gentle soap or cleanser if you wish. Hibicleanse/hibiscrub would be ideal though.

1. any type, it is easier to target ice picks and box car (with needling) though. Shallow rolling should be addressed well with dermaroller.
2. for me the down time is 5 days, but i used to have rosacea so i have a tendency to stay red longer than most.
3.Give it a try without the leds, when you can afford them give them a try. You will find you get results without the leds most likely. With them though results are nearly always much better than without.
Is there a good reason for my dermaroller coming with instructions to dispose of only after one use?
Well it would be the safest thing to do, but i think a better reason for them to say this is because they sell more units this way... And it obviously get's them out of a number of legal situations.
So long as you don't re use them to many times and you dissinfect them inbetween sessions they should last a good 3-4 treatments.
