I know but in that article you posted.. wasn't it about facial reconstruction without scarring? They didn't treat his scar(s), they treated his facial (bone) structure, no? I'm not sure. If they were indeed treating scars.. wouldn't that be it? The solution we're all looking for?
Thanks for your immediate answer and your contribution to this thread, btw. Gives hope.

Just read some other articles on it. The patient was a 37 year old guy with a disfigured face by a gunshot. However, it still looks hopeful.

These articles do state that no scars were left behind.
Looks like they went in thru his mouth??
No cuts on his face?? So no wounds on his face??
im really happy that we are seeing alot of breakthrough studies after years without any single hope
i think in the next decade we will able to see new scar treatments and possibletreatments with stem cells that are promising
do you guys think that these new scar treatments could possible work on stretch marks too?

Definitely, if these treatments can treat facial scarring then why not body scarring too?If these scar treatments aim to fully recover smooth and healthy skin then it should work for all atrophic scarring. I can't see why it wouldn't, I feel it would be highly unlikely if such treatments would only cover part of some skin on 1 area of a body.
WITHOUT A DOUBT THE DUMBEST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET MAY BE THE ONES ACTIVE ON THIS THREAD (INCLUDING ME FOR OCCASIONALLY COMING BACK HERE AND SEEING THE SO-CALLED PROGRESS).
WHAT A JOKE. YOU GUYS READ THAT FUCKING ARTICLE AND THOUGHT THEY HAD MAGICALLY HEALED SCARS. IT WAS SCARLESS CAUSE THERE WEREN'T ANY INCISIONS ON THE FACE YOU MORONS.
There's no need to get mad about this. If you don't think it's worth your time then don't "show up".
I just love science so I post articles and information that I find around the web just in case anyone else is interested. I'm not getting my hopes up every day that the cure is right around the corner, and I suggest you do the same or you will constantly be let down.I'm sorry that life isn't fair. Look at all the people on this thread that have suffered! I say just appreciate all the brilliant, hardworking scientists that are working for us all over the world that provide us hope!
One thing that I have taken a keen interest in for the last yearis genetic engineering usingCRISPR-Cas9. This technology allows us to read and write genes into plants, animals, and humans. And itis going to explode in the next decade and beyond. There will be a day, hopefully within our lifetimes, when skin diseases that cause inflammation and scarring will be eliminated by destroying the mutated genes that cause them. In additionwe'll modify our genes to allow natural, complete skin regeneration (our skin already knows how to completely regenerate on its own but is prevented from doing so due to inflammation and scarring).
Here's an example article: http://www.statnews.com/2015/12/07/crispr-mouse-models/
idk what this is but i saw it so ithought i might as well post it
...still waiting to hear news about John Hopkins' hydrogel
Have followed this tread from 2008, we are now almost eight years contemplating about a solution. I haven't been on this tread for years and it is hopeful to see it is still alive, only there are no new answers since 2012.
Have been to dr Khan myself for the Recell, he recommended a completely different treatment. Because recell is good for the very worst scars like burns orthe worst kind of acne scars.it does not tackle the texture problem. And is very expensive.
The treatment I have had consisted of radiofrequency, angel PRP (own blood to heal faster), co2 laser resurfacing and skin grafting (to cut the scar lose and bind it again. It was very painful I couldn't move because all my nerves where exposed and every breeze burned. Anyway this is the treatment that helped me get over the obsession. It felt like a victory and I had control over my life.
As preparation I stopped smoking, did a lot of exercise and ate extra nutrition's including protein and a lot of colored vegetables.
I would say 70% improvement in the beginning, after a year 50% improvement. Deep scars have become less and some scars actually vanished. When I do derma rolling my skin looks 60% improved in the first days. It seems that a scar will always stay a scar unless it is very shallow.
Mentally it helped me all the way, I still have 3 deep scars that are bothering me slightly. and in the summer they are less noticeable. And my body I have a lot of small colorless scars. I treated this with co2 in the Netherlands, dermatologist said it would vanish, did very little.I am a swimmer because of anxietyI always swim in a surf suite, no questions asked. I used to be scared to go out, now it is no problem anymore. I am going to Indonesia next month, andthe treatmenttook me over the line I needed it to do. To make it more livable and be more self assured.
So anyway, why I responded is for some advice. You can rather save some money. (about 5000 euro) Go for the best results possible and live with it.Then keep dream waitingthis obsession of a complete cure. And feeling hopeful and then disappointed again. Then maybe one day there is actually a full cure worth being obsessed about. In the meanwhile make the best of the coming years and start saving money. Don' t expect any sympathy most people won't understand. Maybe family can help out.
Dr Khan is expensive, though he is probably the best out there and isn't there to take your money. He has a name to hold up. If there is any new treatment available he will know it. He is somewhat of a pioneer and Harvey street London is known for the best medical care in the world. Anyway he knows more then us and the deductive skills of this forum aren't high enough to come out with a solution ourselves except copy paste a new hopeful study on PubMed about mice that heal differently then people or false studies to draw investors. Vague hydrogel technology anddisappearing fully healed pigs.
Anyway hope you keep this tread alive, just saying don' t expect anything soon.
did anyone get a message saying that this person was seeing this doctor and would report back about their results? I'm wondering if it's an actual person or just a doctor'sofffice spamming us.
I'm skeptical as fuck about the above person recommending dr. khan. Khan's office has been spamming this thread for ages.

For what it's worth, I've consulted with khan and recommended recell and he said at best it would improve 30-40 percent of scarring and I have "average" acne scarring as you can see from my pics. Like if total moonface is 10, i'm like a 5 or 6. But yeah I have some deep scarring around the temples and a bad area on my cheek.

its another year, still in despair. anyway ,glad to see you're still insist on,Rudy
we have nothing but hope and our own small weapons to fight against that
remember youre not alone, and there is hundreds of trials running right now
maybe 10 years from now we gonna laugh about this kind of scarring conversation
dont be hopeless and despair
There are reports that Recell will be approved soon by the FDA in the US. Also quite interested in 3D printers printing skin using cells.
This doctor uses subcision and fat grafting to give good improvements.
