Having trouble staying motivated on this regimen. Spent the weekend away from home and I feel like I went all the way back to day 1 in terms of how my face is looking. Still taking the pantothen pill and eating as healthy as possible, so I will keep this updated there. After 4 weeks of the saw palmetto I didn't notice any effect from it, so I have decided to cut that out.
Having trouble uploading these, but here is another
I just applied some lotion, so that is the reason the skin looks particularly oily. My nose looks pretty decent and the chin as well, but my cheeks are just blowing up with discolored marks and bumps.
I went to a dermatologist before school started (First week of August) who put me on this Ziana gel, as well as a lotion called promiseb and 250mg pills of Azithromycin. The pill does not seem to be doing much of anything (she said it would reduce redness from the gel). The gel seemed to work quite well between weeks 5-7, but it has since stopped working particularly well. I am a big fan of the lotion. I have also been taking zinc pills since the beginning of August. What suggestions do you guys have for me. Last time someone on here commented that my face looked very 'sore' and that they would suggest using no chemicals on it or scrubbing it with anything. I've been using a salicylic acid cleanser in the shower as well. Suggestions/help please!
Alright here are some more pictures from today. Seems to have improved a little bit. I am using the Ziana gel but being careful to use a very small amount so as to not irritate and burn the skin. My left cheek is definitely the worst with a combination of redness/red marks, spots, and then flakiness/peeling. My forehead continues to have small bumps, which is frustrating because the gel was prescribed particularly to get rid of those. My right cheek, which I think looks not too bad, appears to be a little bit red and flushed, not a natural skin color. Nose and chin area are generally fine.
So since I started posting on here it has been about a week. I think generally things are going alright with my skin, but certainly could be better. I am thinking of stopping using the Ziana gel- I got it to get rid of 'little bumps' and have used it now for over 2 months with no real results. It makes my skin more red, and it also makes it pretty oily. Thoughts? Here are some pictures I took today.
My thoughts on the photos- everything is a little bit more clear, but also my face appears much more red (I also just put on lotion so the shininess is mostly due to that). Looking back at the photos I posted early in this thread, however, I think my skin looked overall better during the summer. This is disappointing since this was before I went to the dermatologist. I may begin once again really being gentle with the skin and not putting too many chemicals of any kind on it, washing gently with a cetaphil, and taking my vitamins. I think this current regimen, mainly the ziana, is doing more to irritate my skin then fix it. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on that. My camera from the summer was also a lot less precise than the one I am using now, and that definitely accounts for some of the difference too.
