Hi there. I have had rosacea for over 15 years. Not once treated with different antibiotics, both tablets and topical. But it didn't help me at all.
I began to notice that the skin on my nose was changing, beginning to resemble an orange peel, lumpy, and thick. The doctor said that if nothing is done, it will only get worse. I've seen pictures of how rosacea can progress and skin changes on the nose, after 60 it's just terrible.
I was advised to use a serum containing niacinamide, zinc and vitamin E, in combination with Regencorr cream on my nose and cheeks three times a week for the purposes of treatment and prevention. I want to ask, who had nasal rosacea, how long will it take for the skin of the nose to return to normal? Can this serum be mixed with regencorr? I'm using them separately so far, at different times. I have found several examples, but I am still unclear about which prevention option would work for me and how to achieve remission, especially in my case, without a strict diet?
I'd be happy if you'd join the topic so we can share our experiences
Hi. For your nose texture to improve, it could take weeks to months, everyones skin responds differently!, but consistency is the key. And yes, youcanmix the serum with Regencorr if your skin tolerates it, just patch-test first! Since diet isnt your focus, focus on gentle skincare: avoid triggers such as heat/spicy foods/stress), use sunscreen daily, and maybe add a ceramide moisturizer to strengthen your barrier....W

Hi, I don't have any reactions to spices, coffee, heat or many other things. Sometimes I had a reaction if I ate a lot of spicy food with red pepper, also to chocolate and I always had a strong reaction to red wine but I can't give up chocolate and wine, nooo I cant. Now during treatment I've noticed that my reaction to them has decreased there are improvements. I'll keep an eye on it.
I'll try the cream with ceramides in the winter. thank U
Hi Galzoyan . Without a strict diet? I think it's very difficult. During the entire course of treatment, should avoid foods that cause a reaction.
I have a reaction to any alcohol, regardless of the weather or temperature. Facial problems worsen after drinking coffee or eating spicy food. I often can't determine the cause at all, even when I abstain from alcohol for a long time and follow a strict diet. Well, maybe stress and heat too, there's no escaping that.
Chamomile extract in soap sounds good, but I don't believe it works I think it just contains artificial fragrances. I don't use soap often because it dries out my skin.
I'm starting a different treatment regimen: 2% metronidazole ointment and regencor cream. I will apply it every day for the first seven days then three times a week for three months. I haven't decided on a prevention regimen yet nor how long to use it.
What about prevention? How is your treatment going?
Hi Kurt do you also have rhinophyma rosacea, problems with nose skin? I used Regencor with serum for more than two months, and now I've switched to preventive treatment once a week. Everything is fine and the results are good, even though I don't always stick to my diet. What I have noticed is that my reaction to stress and red wine has become weaker. The skin on my nose has improved, becoming smoother and more even, with no redness, which makes me very happy. The scar under my eye is almost gone. Before, the tip of my nose would get all red and warm when I had a flare-up, but now it doesn't.
I used metronidazole topically in the past, but I didn't see any positive results. My doctor told me then that I didn't have demodex, which may be why metronidazole didn't help or maybe it's another form of rosacea, I don't know. Regencorr needs to be stored in the refrigerator. If you mix thick metronidazole ointment with Regencorr, this mixture will also have to be stored in the refrigerator. If you do this, the mixture will be like wax and thick, hard to absorb and difficult to apply and dose. Read the detailed instructions and reviews. It is better to use metronidazole gel with regencorr. I changed my soap and have been using unscented soap without any additives for a long time. I'm a huge believer in soap, there's just no way to get all the cream residue off your skin with just clay and a scrub
Good result 👍
Derm told me he suspects i have demodicosis on my nose, among other things and that i probably have a mixed form of rosacea. I don't have the same changes on my nose as you have. The problems are more around my nose, cheeks and forehead. When i have a reaction my face turns red, I sweat a lot and my acne and rash get worse.
There was a thread on the forum about treating acne scars with DMSO added to reegencor cream to improve absorption and enhance the regencorr effect on the skin. I'm thinking about whether to add it and if it will be beneficial.
What's your take on prevention and duration? When do you plan to take a pause or stop? The course of treatment is 2-3 months, that's clear, but prevention is not clear. After a month, gradually stop using it but what about diet and restrictions?
As for metronidazole, that's good advice very timely 🙂 . Thanks
I read that thread, and I think that dmso is not at all suitable for treating rosacea. I wouldn't add it to Regencorr. If it can irritate the skin even a little bit amounts, then dmso is definitely not suitable for us. I wouldn't even try it. I plan to continue prevention in the future, about once a week, maybe more often, but most likely less often, I will increase the intervals between prevention. It all depends on whether heat, sun, and wine will continue to cause me problems. But I will still have to protect myself from this and take preventive measures. Before the treatment, the skin on my nose became redder and more sensitive to alcohol, and cheeks reacted more to the sun. I don't know how long the treatment will work if I don't limit alcohol or certain foods. Although I don't often drink wine, there's a big difference between tasting wine in the summer and in the cooler seasons. The skin reacts very differently, especially in hot weather. I can't and won't stick to a strict diet. Life is short, and I don't want to deny myself so many things. I can't even imagine my husband opening and enjoying a bottle of Lafite while I just watch. No way! I don't have the same reactions and flare-ups on my face as I had before. The skin's become less sensitive, more even, and smoother, which is the main thing.
I had thought about adding a little bit of retinoid ointment to the mixture of Regencorr and serum with zinc, but I didn't want to risk it, and the result is good without it, but this option might work well for you if your face sweats a lot. I didn't have that problem.
It's a pity that people rarely share their neg or pos experiences.
