Hi - so i have been dealing with red marks left after acne for more than a year - i get one after every pimple, no matter if i scratch/touch it or not. I have more than a hundred (yes, i counted them; tragic i know) of those small red spots and they just dont go away. Does anyone know anything to prevent them from forming and how to make them fade/become less red? If so please help! (Things i have already tried: vitam E cream, creams specifically designed to make scars fade)
Also, could anyone tell me what this specifically is? I understand that they are not acne scars, but i dont think it is hyperpigmentation either...
Red marks left after a pimple is hyper-pigmentation. It takes time to fade, sometimes months. The best way to stop them from forming is to prevent zits from forming in the first place, and if you can't help that, then make sure never to pick at your active zits as it creates a bigger wound and makes for the possibility of more redness.
Sunscreen will help to fade the red marks. Apply diligently every day.
