Reoccurring Facial Redness Due To Blocked Pores?

Hi everyone,

I don't really have any acne very much, or any kind of scars really. I have been improving my complexion and what acne I have through the methodical use of salicylic acid, tea tree oil, cure aqua gel etc. Basically, I've been doing a lot of research and put in a lot of effort into improving my complexion. And, it has actually worked! My face is a lot better than it used to be, except for these two spots on either side of my nose!

Ever since I started using chemical peels (safely, mind you) my pores have been getting cleared and become smaller, which I like of course. However these two spots give me some huge problems. The skin just regrows back over the spot with a rough texture and a slight redness underneath the rough skin that has grown over after the top layer of the dermis peeled off from the peel I use. (Just a small 10% salicylic acid I use, and also a 20% tea tree peel etc.)

What I think of it is that these two red spots are just some stubborn blocked pores, and that I just need to more frequently exfoliate (safely, of course) and use multiple repetitions of salicylic acid over the spots.

What do you guys think? I am very satisfied with my face, except for these two problems spots. The spots have a rough and underlying red texture, ALSO, when the spots do clear up, and I don't make sure I clean them well, the darken and become more "blocked" looking, becoming just as red.

I kind of think this is just my face trying to clear out and clean itself from the salicylic acid applications, but I really would like some more opinions !

your skin looks really irritated from the constant exfoliating and SA applications. I would scale back immensely and use a good moisturizer.

I kind of agree with SiriBai, it could be that the salicylic acid has been overused, and now the skin is becoming sensitive, or maybe there is something in the mix that is causing this reaction, like the product you are using has too much alcohol.

If you use a moisturizer and the problem goes away, then it has to do with over exfoliation, if it persists then a visit to the dermatologist could be a good idea.

Take care.
