anyone tried this

??

Hi CECI, do you have that report of the ACV that kills good bacteria ?

for everyone...

[Edited link out]

Explanation of the Oleic Acid / skin barrier..

It comes down that even if we should eliminate all the yeast and if we should apply the oleic acid produced by the yeast on our skin than it still will penetrate our skin layer which causes SD. If you apply that oleic acid too someone else who doesn't has any dandruf or SD than it will not harm. So the point is there is a missing link inside the skin itself! So again I think it's intenally.

No, I don't remember where I saw that about the acv but you should be able to find it if you google.

@ Ceci

HIhi,

Ok I will look it up. cause it seems important to me when I will drink it again after I did some stool tests in the near future.

Will your sulphur soap also help without moisturizing after?

Are you able too skip only one day?

Do you wash yourself ones or twice a day with this sulphur soap?

I tested in the beginning of this year a sulphur soap.. all I can say that it did help really good. but after I only got tiny rashes immediately after washing or during the washing.

ciao

Hi. I always moisturize after washing my face (I moisturize with a small amount of unrefined shea butter--moisture lasts all day long). I use the sulfur soap once a day (mornings). I don't wear makeup so I just wash my face with warm water in the evening.

The most effective and purest sulfur cleansing products are available via a medical prescription and if you have medical insurance they should cost only a few dollars. Sulfur has been used for YEARS as a treatment for acne and rosacea and it has both antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properities. It is an old school treatment and I am sure a derm would give you prescription without a problem, since it is pretty harmless. Plexion is a brand name of a sulfur cleansing cloth that I use. There are also washes, such as Rosula. I do not know of any soap available at Walmart, but there is an ointment called Procea which contains sulfur and is marketed as an OTC cure for rosacea.

Keep in mind that some people are allergic to Sulfa medications (it is a common allergy to have), and if you are one of them you may not be able to tolerate it.

Hi. Sulfur soap can be drying. I automatically moisturize my whole body (including face) everyday. I've never gone without moisturizing. You should feel relief from seborrheic dermatitis (itching) after the first use. I also use this on my back for bacne and the relief was immediate for that also. I've never skipped more than a day of using the sulfur soap. On the days that I do skip, I use my African black soap which is also great for acne.

For me, my facial seborrheic dermatitis really couldn't be noticed by anyone but me except for the dry flakey skin but moisturizing helped hide that. All I can say is, try it for yourself. It's relatively inexpensive and might be the answer you're looking for. :)

You might be able to find a sulfur soap at a health food store (like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC) or Whole Foods. Grandpa's Thylox soap is 3% sulfur and I heard good reviews on that.

Try googling "sulfur soap" to get names of the soaps and then call various stores to see if they have it. This way you are not travelling all over the place trying to find a soap.

For a moisturizer, I really like unrefined shea butter. It has great healing properties. This you can find at a local African store, health food store or Whole Foods.

You can do both. I've taken it internally (2 tablespoons mixed in a small amount of apple juice twice daily). It's a great detoxifier. Cleans out the colon. Reduces belly fat. Increases energy. Practically eliminated my arthritis and fibromyalgia pain. You can also use it directly on your face but I would dilute it 50/50 ACV/water since it could be strong. Just use it as a toner.

If you're looking for sulfur OTC, there's also Adult Acnomel which has 8% sulfur. I use that as a spot treatment. It's great for cystic acne. Clears mine up within 2-3 days. The only thing with acnomel is that it is tinted and, therefore, is not everyone's shade. I use it at night (overnight) so it's not a problem for me.

Sometimes instead of spot treating, I'll mix some up with my shea butter and moisturize my whole face with it. Works great.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already (didn't go through the whole thread), but according to some sources, seb derm is an indication of vitamin b6 deficiency.

I also remember someone at another forum (forgot which one since it was at least a couple of years ago) said that pyroxidal 5' phosphate (P-5-P; active form of vitamin b6) along with zinc cleared his seb derm. forever. I completely forgot about this story until today as i was reminded of it while searching for p-5-p containing b-complex vitamins.

If nothing else has worked to 'cure' it, i say give it a shot. iherb carries p-5-p by Thorne Research with no allergenic fillers like magnesium stearate if you're concerned about that stuff.

Hi JKSL,

thank you, do you have SD yourself too?

I do, but it's mild enough for me to not worry about it so much. I have it mostly around the folds of my nose and the front center part of my hairline.

btw, I ordered P 5' P by Thorne Research at iherb. And i will be taking one cap at night. I also ordered the b-complex #3 by Thorne Research and i'll be taking one cap sometime during the day. I have a bottle of 5mg biotin by Jarrow. I'll take one with breakfast and another with the b-complex.

Oh yeah, i also ordered zinc gluconate powder by Life Extension as well which i will be taking at night with the P 5' P (active B6 vitamin).

I didn't order these supps for the seb derm though. I'm trying to slow down my hairloss. Hopefully, this will deal with the seb derm issue as well. The seb derm probably contributes to some of my hairloss.

Hi. Sorry for the ambiguity. The SD (for me) wasn't noticable by anyone but me ever. But now with the sulfur soap and shea butter, the SD symptoms are gone. No more flakiness, no more itchiness.

The Acne Practice is not a scam. I've used this program for my seb dermatitis with excellent results. I was treated in person at Dr. Neil's office in NYC. His program is non-invasive and uses very simple methods and principals for controlling outbreaks. Most of his patients are severe acne patients but I have mild to moderate dermatitis and his program works for me. The only thing is that his program requires a lot of discipline and persistence. So while it's simple in terms of its principals, in practice it requires you to be fluid. You have to monitor your progress very carefully and adjust the paramaters of the program accordingly.
